Hi, Can i ask something about credit transfer?

I have a degree in Actuarial Science, but i am interested in obtaining a second degree which is in banking and finance
I'm not sure about the credit transfer but I would suggest that if you are really interested in a banking finance degree which recognised internationally and is updated regularly, try the London external degree programmes which can be done by distance learning. Probably more expensive and more strenuous then the OUM or Wawasan Open University.

However, the University of London degrees have an impecable pedigree, over 100 years old, and is recognised internationally and also by many international professional bodies. Our local open universities are just getting local recognition and I doubt their degrees are recognised internationally, let alone by international professional bodies.

Based on my opinion, I think working people who wanna study part time would most likely want to expand their knowledge rather than looking at the qualification of the paper especially if taking a part time degree course.

If its all about the paper and better opportunity, might as well work full time until you are good enough to enroll for MBA.

Getting a Degree from an open uni won't hurt your career much when you have the experience. It will help you to gain a positive image when you're in an interview.

This is misleading. Both OUM & WOU (and AeU) programmes are mostly recognised by MQA & JPA.

Of course, OUM is more established as compared to WOU, but still, the quality of both Universities, mode of delivery, flexibility are on equal terms.

I graduated from Diploma in IT since 2005. I don't think I can request for exemption since the maximum year is 5 (This is for OUM). sad.gif

Which is why WOU is my only choice in continuing my degree part time.

If I had graduated from STPM with CGPA 3.00 last year, planning to take Multimedia Design (Hons) in WOU. Means I still need to study 5 year for a bachelor degree? Any other ways to shorten the period of time?
