Iphone is a joke. Until today only start to have multi tasking features. The first nokia smartphone can already multi task joke man. I sold off my iphone after 1 week of usage its too boring and too many limitation. Then from 5 or 10 ppl i know using iphone their postpaid bills can shoot up to RM500 to Rm600. U can turn off the phone data access from accessing 3G but after it will turn on of byitself except using 3rd party.
Joke? but still the sales and profit of the iphone far exceeds any smartphone in the market. People want simplicity nowadays, turn on phone, make some phone call, gaming on the go, listen to some music, surfing net in starbucks, thats all they want in a phone, and iphone is there to cater for their needs.
People dont give a damn about multitasking, nor tweaking the phone to the max, they just want a phone that does everything out of the box, and iphone suits them well enough.
Frankly i dont use multi task often enough, and i find multi tasking makes the phone laggy, my previous htc magic i have to press the kill task switch once a while because it makes the overall phone experience lag. Apple knows the original iphone and iphone 3g if implement multi tasking will end up the same way as windows become the hardware simply cannot support too much multi tasking, and people will start blaming for faulty software, think windows mobile. The 3GS will support multi tasking due to upgraded hardware.
Anyway if iphone is such a fail toy, microsoft wouldnt bother making their new wp7 the exact same thing as the iphone os.
Not an apple fanboy, but honestly most of the consumer would prefer iphone rather than other smartphone that have better specs and functionality because of the simplicity. Open box -> plug in sim card -> activate -> a working phone.
