the file itself is 2.2GB anyone knows what's the best setting for movies to be played on N900? eg:which format? (avi or xvid or divx or mp4) eg:what bitrate?(=1500 or >1000 or <1000) any other hints/tips? This post has been edited by one1002: May 13 2010, 11:10 PM |

bitrate.. erm.. if not mistaken is 1008. just to add, i played Afro Samurai episode 1 without converting.. Xvid codec and also okay. sumtimes jerk abit but overall watchable. This post has been edited by Seaedge: May 13 2010, 11:25 PM |

QUOTE(aspire2oo6 @ May 14 2010, 12:15 AM) Sigh someone said MKV works on N900 i even installed the extra decoder but it didnt work it said unsupported MKV's just a container, it depends on what codec is used and the encoding settings.Safe to say normal desktop level MKVs will surely fail sans remuxing. I simply use the old mp4 settings from my old 5800 configs, easier. Though there should be detailed threads about optimum encoding settings over at maemo.org. Either that or the N900 really doesn't have MKV support plugins for its gstreamer. My old Ubuntu box's gstreamer also phailed handling H264 MKV files, but that's a few long years ago and it was crappy hardware. This post has been edited by Eiraku: May 14 2010, 12:23 AM |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ May 14 2010, 12:25 AM) Download AVI files then, should play no problem straight off the torrent/DDL. most AVI works fine I even played soundpark on the phone without lack. Sorry i just get annoy because the paper says the phone can play MKV and in this thread someone said need install the extra decoder and it will workI think. Haven't tried playing my collection on the N900 yet, except the files off my old 5800/N97 mini memory card. |

QUOTE(kfthoo @ May 14 2010, 11:24 AM) Nope, just choppiness and lagging in-game. Close it, start it up again. Everything's fine... Going back to Titan's Kernel. Lets see if things get fudged up again. And now with the new kernel-config app and it's support of direct xterm sudo commands, I can create shortcuts that actually allow my to change clock speed ranges on the fly, woohoo. EDIT: Finally managed to do it. OC and Revert to normal shortcuts now on desktop. For the burst of speed when you really need it. This post has been edited by Eiraku: May 14 2010, 01:39 PM |
