i see, but why is everyone trying to do it manually? making me confuse  rclxub.gif
*
because the firmware is already out since yesterday but only able to get thru the manual way

The automatic way thru NSU and FOTA only available today at 4 to 5pm.

Then another thing to reformat the phone memory aka clean installation you need to flash the eMMC so only manual way able to format it

A thing that many of us are not aware of is that Nokia is now the owner of Qt. Qt is a cross platform framework that lets developers create a single source code that can run in multiple devices and platforms. So for example, Qt enables the games that run in Maemo to be used in Symbian too. But not only that, also apps and other programs can be used across platforms. This is really convenient because developers will do more with less, for example, if an Android developer could run the same code that he/she wrote specifically for Android in another platform (let’s say a PC), then that developer would be able to create more games/apps and have a greater reach, further motivating development of new apps. Qt, by the way, is really big, Qt runs in everything from coffeemakers to advanced defense systems. One exciting thing about the Nokia N8 is that is the first device to have Qt built in. For example, Angry Birds, which is an excellent game for Maemo 6, can actually run in the Nokia N8 because of Qt, isn’t that brilliant! The advantage of having Qt on Symbian is that we will see better quality apps from now on. I mean, Symbian has just a couple of good looking apps like Gravity, but most of them, even being really useful, don’t have a great look (best example is Fring). Others do have a great look but offer little functionality or are too simple (like most Off Screen apps in the Ovi Store like Candle, Disco Ball etc…) I think that the big capacitive screen of the N8 together with Qt will bring better apps to the Symbian world, and this is very important because Symbian really needs apps. An aspect I have been enjoying on the Android Market is that there is an app practically for everything, if I need an EBay app I can find it, same with PayPal, dictionary websites and pretty much anything that could come to my mind. Here is a video that shows the game ”Bounce Evolution” which was originally in the N900, running in the N8.

Nope, can't help you bro, sorry.

On a side note, anyone notice that pressing the back button now actually goes simply back rather then going to the annoying history window? The placement of the button in just sad, but the functionality is pure win.

If only we can open new tabs in the background now...
*
I thought the back button would work like windows. Load your previous page or earlier pages without loading it back.

The history on PR 1.1 is good except every page must load

That's what I mean, cache-back, or something like that.

Hey, how's your guy's display back cover? The one with ARM Cortex-A8 written on it. Mine crazy calar edi, assumingly from the slider mech.

And WHY no more automatic reflow in MicroB? Did some idiot flag thaat as a bug or something?

For portrait, try Shift+Ctrl+R in an app, if it supports auto rotate, it will once you close the keyboard and rotate your screen to portrait.

Though you havta turn it on every time you go in an app, but at least it's there. Portrait mode in PR1.3 anyone?
*
Mine do not have any autograph there. Can u share with us how bad is your autograph on your phone?

To get the History, touch and hold the back "Back ARROW" key beside the "+" (bookmark) sign. It'll launch the History page.

dont be scare, brick ur device is nothing. u can always reflash it back to restore the functionality in case something goes wrong. trust me, i've been the worst. yesterday is seems the bad day for me, but in the end, i learn something new.

updating via OTA and NSU is basically the same, u still need to update via NSU in the end. IMHO, flashing using flasher is really quick, less-hassle if u know what are u doing. but as there are many guides on how to flash by using flasher, including the one aspire2006 put it at FP, even inexperienced user can do it  brows.gif

btw, if u still scare u might brick ur n900, updating via NSU is 'safest'.
*
difference is while updating or downloading thru NSU there a higher possibility of failure when manual the files are already downloaded.
The guide i am trying to make it as simple as possible for everyone to able to do themselves. Please share with us if u successfully update thru my guide thank you.

Dont worry about bricking your phone as long as u have the files i uploaded and the flasher tool u can always reflash back anytime even phone cant boot in
