But after reading ccgenius suggestion of using HAVOC, now able to send even with WiFi running~  rclxms.gif  rclxm9.gif

Only thing to keep in mind is havoc is essentially an ugly hack (Maemo doesn't really support concurrent connections) and carries with in a 1 in a thousand chance of borking things out.

As per usual with Maemo, and *nix in general.

Today's run, underclocked to 500 to save battery life.

Another hidden side to the N900, GarnetVM! Take a modern 2k smartphone and run a late 90s OS on it lol.

OMG....i remembered i had a palm m100 before...my 1st touch screen handheld....

my history of touchscreen device:
1. Palm M100
2. HP Ipaq h6325
3. Eten M500
4. HTC Touch Pro
5. SE X1
6. Nokia N900....

Mine:
1. Palm Zire
2. Clie SJ22
3. Clie TJ37
4. Dell Axim X51V
5. Nokia 5800
6. Nokia N97 Mini
7. Nokia Advanced Experimental Half-Baked Computer Phone Thing (aka N900 aka the Chuck Norris Phone)

It's been a looooong journey lol... And just for comparison, the N900 is MILES more stable then my modded Axim ever was, so I can say I'm happy (and used to using devices whose makers have forgotten about lol).

A great Clie I might add.

It was a long, nearly decade long search for the perfect computer in a pocket, and I think I've finally found it: my Kyureii-tan.

Dang, can't help but be amazed with what she can do, bugs and all... wub.gif wub.gif wub.gif

Cool! I have the X51V as well, in fact, still with me, no more value to sell, but it's still a pretty high spec up till today, with 600Mhz processor. Due to seldom use, the battery condition isn't so good already and sort of bloated.

Added on May 29, 2010, 5:16 pm

MPx, nice! I still have the MPX200. Ahh, those device were great back then...
The MPX300 was even cooler back then, can have two types of flip (whatever you call that).
*
Ooooh the MPX series, I really thought they were "THE FUTURE" back then lol.

And the X51V really was great, though it showed early on how Qualcomm processors were battery guzzlers compared to OMAP.

BTW, pre-Cortex OMAP were painfully slow lol.

Just overclocked my N900 to 805Mhz using the titan's kernel. I have set the minimum 250Mhz, but how come in the conky apps, it show idling at 500Mhz?

another question, can i set my minimum at 125Mhz? lower clock at idling supposed can make the battery last longer, right?
*
It steps down according to your N900's needs. So, if it needs 500, it will go down to 500, if 250, it will go down to 250.

And it's hotly contested, but it seems that a minimum of 125 is somewhat problematic, and 250 seems to save about the same power. And the N900 doesn't idle at minimum, it idles (when screen is locked and nothing is running in the background) at 0mhz.

Also, it saves more battery to set a lower maximum then a lower minimum, or at least it seems as per my experiments.

Good luck testing!

went to lowyat today n couldn't get rubber case for n900 T_T
*
If you mean hard rubber, better get from aspire, easier. I'm STILL waiting for my personal shipment from DC Mugen, and it's been more than two weeks.

As for TPU rubber, there's only TWO guys in freakin ebay that sells em, and they only ship to UK. Did contact but they did not respond.

OR, if you can't wait, find a cheap tipu leather case with plastic case, and rip the plastic case out and use it as a hardcase, like I'm doing.

Make sure under "distribution" you've written threre "fremantle" (actually make sure the whole thing properly written, with caps in the right places). Should be okay.

Aiyooor, edi x tahan with my loosening keyboard, and have liberally sprinkled electrical tape around my N900 to increase grip. Now working fine and dandy, nice and tight.

My N900 looks more "industrial workhorse" now too lol.

Oh, and for those who couldn't get the pac man lockslider running, you sure you dumped the files into the theme folder of THE THEME YOU ARE CURRENTLY USING?

To make it simple, AP Set is also original. It's no FAKE, it's original.
So, sure you can use OTA or NSU, etc.

The one Nokia Malaysia is selling is called "AUTHORISED" set, which means, they are authorised unit for Malaysia.
Just like buying PS3, PSP, etc. You can buy JAPAN set, US set, and finally, Malaysian set ("AUTHORISED").

It's all Original.
*
Main difference is in aftersales service actually, aka the warranty. Original sets (or authorised sets) would be able to claim warranty at any of the Nokia Care centres nationwide (for free as long as your warranty holds). For AP sets, free warranty = AP company service centres. You'll have to pay for service at Nokia Care, but they would STILL provide service.

As long as you buy from a reputable AP company, it's all original. Though there have been AP part swap scare stories going around, with ori parts changed with lawya parts.

But NSU and stuff, yeah it's all cool. Especially with the N900, as it isn't as region specific as Symbian units (for instance).

btw i find the phone being some what sluggish after the latest firmware update.
*
This is the funny part, some users (me included) found that the new firmware is smoother and faster, though it likes to lock up for a short while (stutter) sometimes now, but most of the time its never a full on permanent freeze (which was common pre-PR1.2).

Plus Hildon-Desktop isn't as freeze happy as it used to be lol.

Funny that PR1.2 bugs are like chipsmore buscuits, now you have them - now you don't.

Frankly the only real trouble I have with PR1.2 is the fact that Hildon .desktop and .menu files don't like to be edited through terminal and leafpad any more (phone freezes), other than that all's smooth sailing over here.

And I didn't even flash eMMC. No problems at all.

Minus is my slider is loose (and AP set = cannot really go to Nokia Care and complain rite?) and needs a couple of layers of elec tape to improve, but life's fair that way lol.

Added on June 1, 2010, 1:06 pmbest to update or not?if i stay at pr1.1 wat is the pros n cons than pr1.2?
*
You have a new phone right? Flash the Firmware and eMMC manually (check frontpage) and you should be far, far happier then if you update through App Man.

You WILL lose all settinga, contacts, etc. But it's a new device amirite?

not new.. 2nd handset which the seller bought at may 18th..
so which way is better if it is not a totally new phone? thank u
*
If 2nd hand even better if you manually reflash both firmware and eMMC, because then you will have a clean N900, almost like a new phone (at least inside).

Check the steps on frontpage (page 1).

Also, first make sure your USB Cable and USB Port is working properly (cucuk into computer, see if you can access mass memory mode), if not you're in trouble.

New OVI Store items up... Angry Birds level pack, Morpho Panorama Pro... biggrin.gif

But kenot buy with my any of my CC lorr... Sakit hati onli... cry.gif

Oh, and I have Transmission installed edi, though I rarely use it nowadays... Used to do the whole mobile torrenting thing (Symtorrent + 5800) back when I didn't have a stable net connection.

But it's a good backup. Just add torrent files and go. And if you're lucky (and in a good location) Sialcom also can reach 120kbps...

... for about 3 hours on 3G lol... biggrin.gif

It's kinda sorta hidden and messed up. Select Games... Then down to the Recommended part (near the GO button), select Best Sellers and then GO... It should be there on top... Angry Bird Level pack lar...

For the Morpho thing, search apps.

Yep, the flasher DOES NOT WORK on 64bit Windows, IINM.

Oh, and I don't have the scroll bug, prolly because I've disabled BLUR in Transition Control, plus overclock to 700 makes everything so much faster.

Though App Man is still a friggin resource hog when installing stuff. Pain heart only.
