Very good. I would like to see a side by side comparison pic of you and wildpuśsycat. This is what I call precontest conditioning. And they say we don't give positive feedback. Bunch of fools.

Keep it going man.

Hi guys,

Is doing squats with lower weights but more reps the same as heavier weights with less reps?

For example 20kg x 20 reps compared to 40kg x 10 reps.

Thanks.

any pic of those wanted to flaunt what they works for? blush.gif

less weight, more reps = endurance
max weight, nice reps = bulk

right?

Moderately heavy weight, 10-15 reps is supposedly best for hypertrophy.

followed kmaru's advice on calf raises - 25-30 reps (maximum can do is 170kgs on smith machine at 25 reps)
damn...
maybe certain isolation is better done at high reps for hypertrophy...did a trial and error and the pump is nuclear like

I think calves and traps are the exception to that statement. I usually go for 20-25 reps for them. xD

I overheard a PT in FF saying that, higher reps for calves and traps because its small muscles he says.

its not small, my calves is 20" ya atm.
its stubborn. it need more stress. and because we do work it on higher reps, most of us uses the tendon rather than the muscle itself ( pushing the weights too fast on which the tendons stores some dont know what energy) im lousy at using all this terms.

Anatomically it's still considered a small muscle group. Even if it's Ronnie Coleman's calves it's still categorized as such. Isn't it supposed to work the other way round? Very low reps hit the joints more right? Eg. Bodybuilders don't like 1RM/3RM deadlifts cos the muscle isn't really worked.

hehe
still remembered ronnie's statement in those mags dulu i used to glance thru at the wangsa maju gym

"i dont do 1RM. why stop at 1 when you can do 10?"

its true
i followed kmaru's advice on max reps for calves, and they burn for 2 days and still is now
dropped my poundages from 200kgs to 170kgs
but who cares
i cant stretch my calves or it'll go cramp
damn HVT
