I'm still recovering from my 2 disc herniations, so I wear a belt. IMO it helps, both physically and mentally, for me at least.

I had a herniated disc back when I was a teen doing taekwando. Did stretching and slipped onto the cold, hard floor. Had to do yoga and lots of therapy in order for me to get back mobility. As a result, I have an odd gait to my walk. But I'm pain-free now and happily pushing myself past failure at times.
However, I plan on getting a belt as I'm breaking plateaus every other week. Heck, it'll help me keeping the waist nice and tight. |

well, no back injuries, but i do wear a belt once i reach 100kg RDL. reason? lower back seems to be affected without a belt at that weight. usually its the last 2-3 sets
