I prefer ChompSMS because of the customizations....
been using 1 yr + now...

chompSms can have pictures as background, can handcent do that?

Any laggy when loading to the apps??
If they do, then i prefer original app though..

this one depends on the phone...
my HTC Dream loads a bit slow but acceptable..
my HTC Desire in an instance... Snapdragon ma..

I find ChompSMS is more simple than Handcent. Beside that, we can purchase chompsms credit, it help us save a lot on international and roaming SMS charges.

I actually opt for stock sms...i'v tried handscent and chomp...but i always get 2 notifications for one sms , one from stock and one from the app....so i rather stick with the stock app....i also use the message widget which favours the stock app...

What will be the different between stock, Handscent, and chomp? Handscent and chomp i cant understand the difference...seems looks the same, pls correct me.

hanscent and chomp looks muhc better and have cutomisable backgrounds, fonts and interface....funtionality wise...identical

i change to handcent from chompsms when i read here about the customize option

u can even change the LED color notification

p/s:u can make the apps as default so that only one notification appear when receiving sms

What phone are you using? LED color notification doesnt work on HTC Legend.

That's because you did not off your notification for the stock app...

I like Handcent, but it's laggy on my Milestone. So still using the stock app.

Im using handcent on my milestone...

I tried chomp and felt that it was snappier and less laggy.
In the end I stuck with handcent cos chomp has that damn advert bar on top!

You can purchase some ChompSMS credit from them.... it will remove the ads from the top bar.
