Hi, i have some problem and hope all pro out there can help me.
Let me list my spec 1st:-

Proc: AMD Athlon 64x2 5000+ (2.6GHz(13x200))
MoBO: Gigabyte MA785G-UD3H
Ram: Kingston Value Ram 1GB PC2-5300
GC: Palit 8600GT
PSU: Huntkey 750W

My problem is, my pc just can OC to 2.8GHz(224x12.5) only.
On 2.8GHz it is stable.

When I try to OC to 2.9GHz, the system was unstable.
I already:-
-Increase the voltage to 1.400V. the stock voltage is 1.3000
-lower the HT

I dont know what's the problem is..
Is it because of my proc temperature??
I check my temp using EVEREST.
My Average temp when load(100%) is about 70 degree celcius.
The CPU#1 and CPU#2 reach 100 degree celcius.

One more thing, my bios wont save the memory timing setting.
I've search on google but the answer does not satisfy me.

Hope u all can help me. tq.

i don't get it. where the hell did these generation of faggot read about overclocking?

there's a facking wall for every processor. if there aren't, they should have just sell 1 processor and let everyone OC to 45Ghz.

and 100 degree for proc's cores, yet still complaint about instability. they're really tad ..

You have to consider your RAM speed and divider also. As you increase your Mhz to 224, your RAM follows too.. Most of the time when its AMD oc-ing its the RAM speed wall. CPU is quite flexi

come on. OC capability doesn't just rely on the processor alone.

its the combination of the system. if everyone are able to achieve 3.3Ghz on stock cooler with that particular processor, what's the ranking doing there?

oh, lol. noobshit.

3.3ghz on another's machine may not be your cpu's potential, it may be lower or higher.

be reminded that there are limitations to mobo, ram cpu , psu, ambient, cooler,

so when another can achieve 3.3ghz, it does not mean you can. but if you are willing to learn, i will teach and i will not lock this thread

while your statement is of substance, I would suggest to put it in a milder manner as these guys, are new, they lack a knowledge, which we can share based on, if they are willing to learn

lower down ram divider , you should be able to hit higher htt .

mine with cheapo m2n68-am can reach 250x12 . on a x2 5200
your board is better , should can reach 3ghz with the right setting and configuration

some ram will prevent you hit higher base clock even you lower down the dram divider.

try lower ur ram speed in bios first...when u oc the ram speed will increase..
this will prevent u from reaching the limit of the RAM too soon.
Check the temp...processor will not be stable at 70degree..maybe u can open up ur case let some fresh air go in tongue.gif

do u try to up ur ram volt..then make sure d ram timing and freq..u can lower ur bus then up ur multiplier..if u really need to hit higher, use highend cpu cooling..so u can up more cpu volt..
