what is 4/3 actually compare to those Nikon 3000D, Canon 550D, Sony A33 entry level DSLR?

i see panasonic GH2 price is not cheap, what make it so higher price compare to other competitor and drive them go into 4/3 and not common dslr?

what is the pro n cons if using this pana gh2 compare to other competitor in term of lens quality, avaialibility (even 2nd lenses); reliability; accessories price (flash gun, etc)....

could the gh2 AF beat A55?

sorry asking so many question, attracted by pana gh2 vs A55...... =P

GH2 is mainly a pure movie record machine IMO

The difference between entry level is, GH2 has many flexible choice of movie setting and provide Full HD 1080p in 60fps and also very "Handycam" style of swiveling LCD + it has Touch Screen which is some how cool

There are not much review about its initial so I think to question about the quality is a little bit early but what I think GH2 is more made for Video lovers

in Auto Focus A55 is definitely faster but in exchange of fixed maximum aperture at F3.5 (which means even your lens has F1.4, the AF will always stick at F3.5)

for Contrast Detection is a much slower however GH2 has the flexibility to adjust the Aperture Setting during recording

After a burst shoot with A55, you need to wait for 1min for it to store into memory and u cant do anything with it, AF slow in fast action and no live view when doing burst shots .. tat's kind suck right ? wink.gif

Haha I think D-Preview might get the pre-production A55 heh?

There are few things which is not true :

- No Live View when burst shooting (THEY have live view in burst shooting as I tested in 3fps/6fps normal mode and surprisingly they can even use 10 fps/7fps(for A33) on live view with AF focus)

- AF is pretty responsive enough to take action photos but obviously not on par on 1D Mk4 or even Nikon D3x which is many times expensive than this camera

Just some minor correction on the statements, no offence keh xD

In Movie features I was really impress by the Panasonic GH2 as it gives all the thing that I want for movie recording and from what I saw the preview videos, the touchscreen really do good just like the handycam !!

Problem is does Lumix G-Series has flexible lens of choice (like adapter?) .... :< which really bother me

Yes ... and I feel like want to sell my GF1 and go for DSLR already .. but still size does matter. Maybe considering A55 rolleyes.gif

But the GH-2 design is pretty good in video and due to the sensor size, it is much suitable for lesser shallower DoF video which is something I would consider

But I am using a E-P2. Kinda regret though. Over here in Australia, E-P2 cost about AUD1400 when I came here. And Leica X1 is just AUD2100. Regret getting my E-P2 too early in Malaysia, if not I'll end up with a X1.

Anyway, comparing GF1 and NEX, which 1 would be a better choice?

GF1 have better access control + handling, good low ISO performance, more tele-range (x2 crop factor)

The current lens line up for pancake is top performer than the Sony NEX E-Mount lens.

NEX have lesser control and handling but smaller sizes + good high ISO performance , more wider-range (x1.5 factor)

It has less impressive lens optic in terms of sharpness and IQ but very wide 3rd party adapter range (same goes to micro 4/3).

In Pancake (the 20mm), Panasonic performs excellent quality :] but the price is expensive while in NEX it has average quality but the price is cheaper
