QUOTE(joeong @ Sep 24 2010, 04:08 PM) i havent checked this thread for a super long time already... ya sure, Im talking about EP2.now ep2 only about rm2k!?! sure boh! or isit epl1 u talking about? early this month when I stopped by in HK airport, the shop are selling EP2 at promotion price, black (no EVF2) + 14-42 + 16gb SDHC + cleaning kit + bag around RM2500 cash or card (after conversion) with 1 yr international warranty. kind of regret that I didnt take that package lo... now I found another store selling silver one with cheaper but lesser free gift. of course there's some risk because they will be sending to me thru fedex. so i can consider RM2k is a good price huh? maybe they slash their price due to too many rumors and GH2 launching in photokina ... QUOTE(sniper on the roof @ Oct 16 2010, 02:38 PM) It's not weird really... I'm using both a Canon 550D and S90 though the latter is used less and less these days due to the lack of image quality. Don't get me wrong... the S90 (and I suppose the S95/LX5) are great compacts but no matter what, they're still compacts. the price for GF1 in Japan really tempting... RM1.7k too with pancake... I don't own a m43 system but have been lusting for one for a long time and have extensive played with E-PL1 and GF1. They are of course better than the S90 but not significantly enough to justify the size diff imo. E-PL1 advantage is it has slightly better noise control over the GF1 and in body stabilisation but it feels like a toy... and imho, the control sucks... no dials at all. Even the NEX has a scroll thingy GF1 on the other hand feels much better, comes with the classic 20mm f1.7 (and in the grey market goods in taiwan is only priced at ~RM1.7K!!!) but the iso800 on it look worse than ISO3200 on my 550D So for me, I opted to wait for: - Upcoming GF2 to see if they can improve the noise part. - Zeiss prime for Sony NEX.. should cost a bomb though - Fuji X100. |

I just got my white GF1 last 2 weeks ago when I'm in Japan. 20mm pancake set only cost me 40000Yen (u do the math and convert to RM, u will get surprise hehe)... although the menu in JP but I can read JP so that's not an issue for me
now its time to source for 14-45mm... This post has been edited by tararan: Nov 11 2010, 09:49 AM |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Nov 11 2010, 04:25 PM) Yea I actually have the same thought when I saw the price.... so I poisoned my friend and end up bought 2 units, white for me and black for him muaahahha.I predict the GF1 price in Malaysia will continue to slash as well until GF2 launch... So far from the GF2 spec, doesn't impress me much too. I have not seen any sample shot which shows the High ISO handling yet. |
