Yes the lenses are using the same mount. My E-PL1 is using pana 20mm pancake.

For me, E-PL1 is for those casual users. Like me, I don't see the need to post process my pictures. I like them the way they are. And E-PL1's JPEG output is already great.

As for GF-1, the RAW is great. You will have full customization if you are into RAW & post processing.

I was once in your place and I decided to get the E-PL1 cause it suits my needs more than the GF-1.

So, just go with the one you need.

I believe that the GF1 is still better in the AF department.

I'm assuming you are in a low light condition?

@ y_owez

You might want to read the basics of photography. Search for focal length, aperture, shutter speed, and ISO. They will help you a lot.

@ frequency

I am assuming that in Manual mode, you set the shutter speed to be fast. While in the other modes, the shutter speed is slower. That's why you see the camera takes longer to capture. Basically the shutter closes slower in order to capture more light.

Added on April 28, 2010, 5:42 pmFound a reasonably priced leather half case for the E-PL1:

Interesting since JnK case is too expensive.

I believe we are on the lucky side...90% of the shops I surveyed in BBPlaza/Sg. Wang have the pancake in stock.

Try to play with the color settings and try to make the colors richer.

Smaller aperture number (bigger aperture opening) means more light coming in. So the camera don't need a longer shutter speed to absorb usable quantity of light.

So yeah, that's normal.

If I am taking food picture, I would select the AF point manually.

You might want to try that.

Referring to this: http://yamiya.com.my/store/product.php?pro...89&cat=0&page=1

I think you can get better deal elsewhere. I think if you are lucky, you can get at around Rm2.7k.

Just get the 20mm. Though the 17mm is a bit wider, the faster aperture in the 20mm seems quite a lot.

Quiet day today.

Here is an interesting read that could be useful to those who are considering NX10 and the E-PL1:

@ bearbrick

Possible to do a bulk on lenses?

Nice shots there bro.

is it the filter that made the picture looks a bit dark?

Anyways, my brother got a Nissin flashgun for his d40 and it is actually compatible with the E-PL1.

Yeah that would totally make the E-PL1 suitable for just about anything.

But I'd rather to have an AF Assist accessories only since I prefer to not shoot with flash. Is there such thing?

I'm not sure about flashguns as it is my first time using. But when I tried with TTL, the flash never fired. But when I set it to manual power, it can fire.
