Hi All,

Is it that every android phone such as (Legend, Milestone, Desire...) come with GPS support? Can I use the GPS without installing any third party application? How would the GPS software from HTC Legend differs from Motorola Milestone? Are the maps complete for Malaysia?

In order to use the GPS system, do I need to have 3G on?

Thank You

if u use googlemap then u need to have data transfer. on android phones such as legend, u can install papago with maps. thus no need data transfer.

Maps and navigation 2 diff things. Depends on what u want, if maps, dont even need gps for that, maps are just still images for u to see. Navigation on the other hand, requires maps combined with gps so u can view where u are in REAL TIME, most gps app have routing/voice navigation means u can key in where u wanna go then ur gps device will show u the way.

Google maps needs data to get maps, gps to lock where u are. But google maps doest provide turn by turn navigation, means no voice guidance while u are driving.conclusion, with wifi/3g u can see maps, but google maps wont show u where u are, thaths where gps comes in, hope u understand biggrin.gif
