Seeing that there's a new promotion for 4mb package I was wondering whether it's worth it to switch over.

anybody using 4mb at the moment? If so how is it?

Halo Reach beta 'bout to start.. gotta be prepared!

my friend just got it yesterday and he said was super fast to get connected to games, especially Modern Warfare 2.

and even downloading he said its really fast. i think he said he can get about 3.5MB to 3.7MB at times.

I cant wait for mine as well.

im using unifi 5mb, its good. so far i tried Blur multiplayer without lag, other games i didnt have time to try yet laugh.gif

if im not wrong streamyx 4mb package upload is max at 512kbps if you hit max download your overall download performance will drop. which is why this is called bottle neck. cannavaro upload is 20mb on unifi 20mb, mine is around 6-7mb for unifi 5mb. so far with unifi i have tried watching iptv, max download + voip phone sametime still able to browse any homepage without slowdown.

if your area is available to install unifi best to get that.

4mbps will benefits your download, not necessarily lagless online experience.
Bandwidth =/= speed.

i want to know, for those with unifi or Streamyx 4MB and Xbox Live Gold, can you rent/buy & stream video on Zune/Video Marketplace? just want to know if region lock still applies there. it should be but just curious.

ok basically unifi is just a faster connection up down internet service. compare to streamyx which it has problem with bottle necks & sometimes certain ip is faster sometimes not.

unifi is stable in away which helps in browsing xbox live content, including download demos or so, but it doesnt really improve the lattency (which is ping) from malaysia to US that much compare to Streamyx, but the nearer countries do help abit. example SF4, b4 when i was using streamyx 1mb, it was always 1 bar or 3-4 bars latency bar when i play with random ppl. now its sometimes 1bar (which is far away i guess) and 4-6 bars most of the time with asian players.

currenly TMnet is improving the unifi latency from country to country, so far unifi had not failed me other than the (cap in future that we are not sure if its gonna happen or not).

oh & its good for those ppl who had alot internet users at home, atleast when some 1 browsing facebook/youtube doesnt effects your online play experience tongue.gif

speed doesn't help in online gaming... if streamyx give 10mb line but with >1000ms ping also no use. So far I have not see any substantial increase in online gaming performance when I switched over to 4MB line... it does helps a bit but not significant.... but download and streaming video on Xbox Live is incredible! When I was using 1MB I could never watch a single streaming video on Xbox Live but now... no buffering at all, all videos play instantly until the end.

Cant wait for Unifi to hit Kuching... technician told me probably in 2012... sad.gif

UNIFI is not immune to so called geo-block or region specific content lock.

Seems that UniFi packages have bandwidth cap. Won't it affect hardcore gamers?

It won't. bandwidth is not really a concern to online game. I can use a 512kbps line on XBOX360 & 1mbps on a PS3 without hiccups.
