I read somewhere that the i5 2500K comes with the "mendatar" cooler, but the i7 2600K will come with the "menegak" cooler. Refer to below source:

I think the P8P67 PRO is a more value buy than P8P67.

But the sabertooth doesnt really have any advantages over the PRO, save for the 5 years warranty/.

QUOTE(jeopardise @ Jan 10 2011, 09:15 AM) I love the review about Quick Sync of the new architecture. Seems better than Nvidia CUDA and AMD Stream (APP). Seems it's Intel secret weapon against the other competitor. Yes, if you use discrete graphic, the quick sync will be disable. Unless you also connect a display to the on board graphics. After some quick read of early review, I see that Sandy Bridge has a dedicated silicon that just do video. http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/sandy-bridge...ew-32090-4.html If we are using discrete graphic, that's mean graphics core will be unused or disabled. So it means Quick Sync will be disable? Am I right? Just hate this limitation, have to wait for Z68. |

Not stupid, they are trying to profit as much as possible. making you change mobo frequently.

I already got my Asus P8P67, i5-2500K and corsiar 4GB 1333Mhz. Just install it with a hyper 212+.
Did a little overclock by just increasing the multiplier to 45x. every other options set to auto. Was able to perform prime95 for 1 hour, no problem, but the temp was around 70-72'C. My ambient is around 30-35'C. The vcore according to Asus monitoring = 1.328v. Anyoneusing hyper 212+ getting this temps? |

OC version means that the CPU multiplier is unlocked. Becoz without the unlocked multiplier, you are virtually not able to overclock the processor.

If you are not into OC, just take the without K. Should be fine. BTW are you using any discrete graphics card?

QUOTE(mattapir @ Feb 1 2011, 02:31 PM) how about the affected HDD??should i send it to RMA too?? No lar, you can still continue using it but just using the sata 6mbps port that is not affected. From the info i gather, the intel sataII problem will not affect your HDD, just that there will potentially be some data corruption or the performance will suffer. On the safe side, just using the sata 6 mbps port.It is not like it will damage all the parts in your cpu. Just wait for an annoucement from the mobo manufacturer on what will they do to replace the mobo(if they decided to). |
