Intel will most likely going to remain socket and chipset for Ivy bridge anyway just like its predecessor, from Conroe/Wolfdale to Nehalem/Westmere

QUOTE(mezzi-quan @ Jan 6 2011, 10:53 AM) theres no use buying sandy bridge processor nw............ivy bridge will come out dis december wif 22nm instead of 32nm..........32nm is old technology and sandy One year later......theres no use buying Ivy bridge processor nw............Haswell will come out dis december wif ground up new microarchitecture technology and Ivy bridge will b obsolete in 11 months time......... bridge will b obsolete in 11 months time......... its more worth to wait for ivy bridge ..........and intel said that ivy bridge will hav at least four cores and a maximum of 8 cores....... Two year later.......theres no use buying Haswell processor nw............Rockwell will come out dis december wif 16nm instead of 22nm..........22nm is old technology and Haswell will b obsolete in 11 months time......... mehh I don't wanna play this waiting game, since we have supa good deal with Core i5 2500K, that's good enough for at least another 3-4 years. |

Problem is, it still isn't gonna work with P67 after all is hardware level, that software is only doing KVM switch work but at least you won't need to change input for monitor and you won't need to boot to BIOS to change your display output. If you ever want these features either go H67 or wait Z68 chipset.
Added on January 12, 2011, 6:35 amFor P67 user, since Nvidia have much access of Intel's patents, I guess you better wait and see if Nvidia include these features to their GPU, which isn't hard. This post has been edited by Kizarh: Jan 12 2011, 06:38 AM |

I'm pretty sure they will,I don't think they will ruin their image by doing that(largest mobo manufacturer wor). 2nd since I'm Sabertooth user I'm also qualify for premium service(P8P67 PRO user also got) from them

All H61, H67, Q67, P67 and Z68 support Ivy bridge anyway, the newer 70 series chipset only add USB3(native), PCIE3(native) only

Yah, Intel will probably release LGA2011 version Ivy Bridge but maybe months later than the LGA1155 versionSo I guess it will cost 1k for chip and 1k for mobo during initial launch then This post has been edited by Kizarh: Oct 20 2011, 05:21 PM |

QUOTE(dma0991 @ Oct 24 2011, 09:18 PM) A short term gain for those who wants to buy those 3 models but the day that AMD goes down, those - will become + instead and it is not the positive kind of news that you want to hear. lolz I do want competition, I miss AMD Athlon VS Pentium 3 era, Athlon is slightly faster but Pentium 3 wins in Performance per watts but back then oil is damn cheap, so energy cost cheap, nobody care about watts lolz |

QUOTE(lex @ Oct 24 2011, 09:54 PM) And Intel went downhill on Willamette-based Pentium4 but gained back a bit with Northwood-based Pentium4 (which is still faster then the later generation Prescott-based Pentium4). Will AMD be able turn this around in similar fashion? Another great era would be AMD Athlon 64 VS Intel Core 2(Core 2 solo, duo, quad which is based on Pentium 3[P6 microarchitecture]) |
