im getting confuse...if i wan to build SB system, should i wait till the next batch of SB chipset? and are all the SB chipset(any brands) got this bug?even higher end mobo?

i've asked cycom where i bought my asus p67 .. and the guy insist its onli one to one swap, no topping up to upgrade...

i didn't ask abt refund then topping up though...

other shops i ask, they say they haven't receive instructions yet

hmmmm, i wonder thats the actual instructions given out by the local distro.. if there is one

today i tried to ask around few shop in my place, mostly they dun have 1155 anymore..they said the supplier had took back all the stock and duno when will have stock again.. sigh think i have to wait till april or may again

Fixed Sandy Bridge chipset ‘begins shipping’

DigiTimes reports that Intel has already started shipping fixed B3-stepping 6-series Sandy Bridge chipsets to ‘first-tier makers’ of laptops and motherboards. It’s therefore expected that these companies will ‘unveil their Sandy Bridge-based models at the end of the month.’

This was the expected time-frame that Intel quoted when the story of the Intel Sandy Bridge chipset flaw first broke, and indicates that production of Sandy Bridge motherboards should be in full swing by April.

DigiTimes also has some details of what Sandy Bridge product to expect first, courtesy of Toshiba's distributor in Taiwan. ‘Toshiba will unveil its Sandy Bridge-powered notebooks in Taipei on February 23,' claims the site, 'with the products to be available starting mid-March.'

This also fits with what our sources have told us about the new B3-stepping chipset – that laptop manufacturers are getting a larger share of them than motherboards makers. This is possibly due to the fact that laptops have to go through more QA processes and testing (for keyboards, screens, hinges and so on) than motherboards.

‘Acer and Asustek Computer [typically referred to as Asus] are also expected to begin shipping Sandy Bridge notebooks in mid-March,’ claims DigiTimes. We expect motherboards using the new B3 silicon from the big three manufacturers to be on sale around the same time, or possibly a week or two later.

Gigabyte is expected to use specific branding to highlight boards using the B3 silicon, probably using a shield motif with some text to denote the B3 stepping, and MSI has already shared its B3 logo. 1156 is (number performance wise) is inferior
even 1336 (enthusiast) have processors struggling to keep up with 1155 even though it cost much (new part comparison)

but for non extreme gaming, benchmarking
1156 can serve it purpose

I went viewnet hyper store on third floor just now. I saw a lot p8p67, I asked them is it got problem. They tell me their thing no problem one. I sweat. They dun even know got the sata bug...

I feel sorry for all those buyer, as the shop ppl dun even tell them need to rma afterwards. A lot ppl will just buy without knowing the product has problem

I m not saying viewnet only. As their items are usually cheaper, so I went it first.
