Does not look very promising to my untrained eyes. Jacket is too short, lower button position too high, sleeve needs rotating. The fabric looks shiny, is it polyester?
it was kinda hard to decide whether the jacket was too short or not, he was wearing low rise jeans, and it was definitely not on his natural waist... the tailor "forgot" that when you do a fitting, you wear your trousers with the suit jacket and thus the trousers wasnt anywhere near enough to be worn. he literally said he forgot. wtf.
idk, i think it is...he liked the look of the fabric and he bought it...its rather heavy, perhaps around the weight of a super 150++.. (i personally think its super 200)...

The cloth is obviously for purists. It is pure polyester. This is a highly unusual jacket. I've never seen an old school tailor cut something this short. The jacket at the back must cover his butt, meaning be at least level with his gluteal fold. The front should be longer than the back by 0.5" when he is wearing the jacket. I've also never seen a jacket without front darts. Maybe you can ask him why. The darts are necessary for chest and abs articulation. It is also not wide enough at the hips. The jacket is "binding" (stuck) to the hips. If you look at the right forepart (in the pics) of the jacket, there is crumpling there in both the jacket and the vest. This is evidence of asymmetry in your friend's torso. His shoulders appear level. I think it is his spinal cord that is not true -- his hips jut out to the right (of the pic). Without looking at literature I wouldn't know how to correct for this. Sleeves need to be rotated.
yes, i believe so that it is polyester mixed with what i have no clue whatsoever except that its heavy.
idk if its short or not until i see it with the trousers, but if you say its short then i believe it is. ill try to persuade him to have his suit jacket a bit longer..
can you explain more on front darts? which part is it and how do i determine whether the suit jacket has a front dart or not.. and a sack suit refers to a suit jacket without a front dart, yes?
ahh, so thats what it was, i thought there was something wrong with the curves...ill have to tell my friend to tell his tailor asap about widening the hips.
yes i did infact notice the crumplings which was rather too much and very noticeable, i tried telling the tailor that theres something wrong although i couldnt point out what exactly was it. all i said was, try to fix the too obvious crumplings.
thanks for the feedback Kotmj.

too late
Added on September 11, 2011, 2:03 amactually the armholes are pretty high. they are not low.
uhh, its not low? well..we managed to persuade the tailor to raise the armhole by a slight bit. he said he'd only do it by a slight bit, not more than that.
