Hi guys.. appreciate your comments on this particular fabric selling on ebay.. Do you think what the seller is saying are true?..

He said.."....if this was sold as a retail item it would cost over £150 a meter if you could get it anywhere, the manufacture cost was £75 per meter before profit its a fantastic buy !!!! .."

I'm just trying to get a little grasp on how to value fabrics sold internationally.

For reference. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/6mts-60-wide-ENG...=item2eb86e10ef

Hey guys, this is pics of my second fitting.for the front pic, i have decided to make it shorter by another 0.5' which can be seen on the right side.It seems that there is still bunching at the sleeves and the sleeves are also not clean.I have asked AL to address this and also the fact that my right shoulder drops which results in puckering and as such, i have asked him to adjust that also.Any other comments would be appreciated.

Jacket seems too short, prefer the original length. Also, get your right sleeve length adjusted to show the same amount of cuff as your left.

I have told AL to do so.This is because my right hand is longer then my left.

I don't have any technical direction to offer but IMO if you manage to iron out all the little bubbling and wrinkling, you'd have a great suit.

So he didnt mention how much cashmere is blended in it? He didnt mention the weight of the fabric? And ... its.. BLACK? You really want to wear a black suit?

Just as i suspected..there's a few more question still need to be asked before making a fabric purchase. From what i gather here from all you sifus is that:
1. The preferred fabric is wool (super 120 should suffice)
2. The wool could be combine with mohair...but there's a certain degree of ratio combination.. Anything less than 35% wool should be avoided..I think.??
3. There's a certain weight for certain fabrics... which i still yet to learn.
Oh.. & if you're buying wool + poly, then don't bother buying it from UK.

Feel free to comment guys.

Why dont you try British Fabrics on ebay or better still, order straight from Dugdales? From my experience with Dugdales, they are very reliable. If you want to feel the cloth, you can go to Ah Loke where he has the Dugdale books.

Any other shop in London specifically that you could recommend?

I dunno.. from throllign this thread, i came to think that

1) Yes and I feel 100 should be morethen adequate. Then again i'm someone who think alumo is terrible cause it wrinkles/crease in an instant! doh.gif
2) Kakmj's the main proponent of mohair. You should know that mohair is very rough and stiffer, even at 30% you can definitely feel it.
3) Well.. do a google lots of article on what is the suggested summer weight, this is also where mohair comes in.. u can get away with lighter weight fabric with mohair blend.. its also more airy.

As kotmj has mentioned before, for a summer suit, it is not only the weight and composition of the cloth that matters. Look for a fresco weave which gives the suit a more airy feeling. I have seen fresco wool weigh in excess of 10z which is supposedly the best weight for a perennial suit. Whether the jacket is lined also makes a difference.

Worsted is good for suits/pants etc. U can google it up to understand why that is so. Dont worry too much about weigth etc.. as long as its not winter weight its fine.

Whatever suit u wearing you will sweat like a hog. I was attending a dinner (in a 270gm suit) in Sunway Resort (which have great airconditioning i might add), just walking over to Pyramid and goign to the ATM made me sweat like I've been runnign a marathon.

Hey guys,
I'll be attending prom for my school soon, and I was wondering what you guys thought about this suit. This suit is kinda old and I've loss a lot of weight so now it looks slightly bigger on me.In this pictures below it looks big on me but once I wear my shirt and other stuff on it'll look more fitting.
However,I was wondering if this design is still fashionable?I don't want to look outdated or anything wearing this for prom.
I also can borrow my dad's suit which is slightly bigger than this, but it's much better design and it's black in colour.
I would like your opinions on this if this suit is too fuddy duddy on me or w/e.
Thanks.

Wow.. a 4 button suit..... dont see much of those around. I know a few who wouldnt be caught dead wearing one...

I would advise against it.. go pick something up form Padini or such.. for below RM400 and look a bit younger/hipper for your prom

imsilly : the 4 button suit does not SUIT you...

uturn : what would be your budget for the fabric?you could try Minnis, H Lesser and all but that would be pricey.I think value for money is still dugdales.BTW, are you based in London?
