I am a newbie in shipping. (Never post anything) I have read a lot of information about the postage and shipping last week. Besides, i had checked the seller on the ebay store as the sample of postage. I plans to sell the T-shirt online in Malaysia. What is the recommended courier services for the shipping. Based on the research that i made, the Pos Laju should offer the cheapest shipping rate. It is around RM 5 or RM 6. Here is a list of my doubt.

Question:
1. By assuming, Shipping a T-shirt from Sarawak, Kuching to Peninsular Malaysia, KL. It costs RM 5 to RM 6. The cost is correct and it is the cheapest cost?
2. Parcel is the type of the postage that i should choose for.
3. The weight is calculated based on volumetric weight or ordinary t-shirt weight??
4. what is a registered pos??
5. Sarawak t-shirt sales should beyond what sub forum for selling? Hobbies and Collection??

My 2 cents answer (might be wrong, sorry, someone pls validate)

1. Assuming you use Pos Malaysia, you can check out their website to determine the cost. Also, pls bear in mind, they are going to increase postage effective Jun/ Jul
2. Parcel
3. Total weight of your parcel, ie your T-shirt plus whatever packaging cost you have
4. As name said, registered, someone got to signed to acknowledge they received the parcel. For tracking purposes.
5. Sorry, this one I dont know.

And final opinion, depends on your volume, you might interested to get those long term arragement with those private courier co, who know, they might even offered cheaper rate than Post Malaysia

Thank, everyone. one more question here:

1. How fast is PosLaju compared to Parcel? (by using PosMalaysia)

It is because Parcel is a lot cheaper.

Parcel -> below 500 g =>> RM 2.50

PosLaju -> below 500 g =>> RM 6.50

*From Sarawak, Kuching to Peninsular Malaysia

If parcel can be delivered to the customer within a week, it can be a choice for the customer. (Depend on the preference of the customer because they pay for it) But not more than that.

Pos laju is not just RM6.50.
You have to add in extra 25% more for fuel surcharge and handling so it is expensive but fast. Can take only one day to reach even from Sarawak to Peninsular.
