pick your server carefully, be it will be hard for you to choose since, you are still haven't started playing.

first you need to choose which side/faction you want to play with, alliance or horde.
alliance got human, dwarf, gnome, night elf, draenei(only if you got the burning crusade expension. i still can't remember how to spell this correctly) and in the future expension catalysm, worgan.

on the horde side, you got orc, troll, tauren, undead forsaken, blood elf(if you got the burning crusade expension) and in the future expension catalysm, goblin.

then the server type, pve, pvp, rp(role playing), and rppvp. i doubt fresh people start in rppvp server
pvp server means most of the time when you are questing, its not safe other player will try and kill you, but this is just to spice things up a bit.

time zone is important too, you don't want to roll a server that you are ready to kick some digital butt, but most people in that server trying to get some 2a.m. sleep.
mostly its a wise choice to pick a server when most of your friends, same country player playing at.

after choosing which faction and server type, then you pick server. the server imbalance is a turn on/off factor.
only selected few like to be greatly outnumber.

last time i see Tharuissan got a ratio of alliance 1 : horde 6
its is always try and pick a almost balance server

but... 1A:6H means you got high chance of meeting people of opposite faction, plus they would think it's safe to do almost anything since they has the bigger slice of bread = pvp awareness super duper low until you can stand next to'em and /pat 'em... btw, 75% of their pvp skills sux

I wanna play a night elf druid.
Hoping for a smooth server thats least laggy playing from malaysia.
And yeah hoping for a server that on around the same time as me(malaysian waking time)
still dunno which server to choose from T.T,cuz u all horde i wan alliance T>T!!!
and i like pvp,so i dun mind a pvp server

the server type doesn't really matter much, RP means Role Play, thats mean you are to "act" your character, as in you are playing Night Elf, so you are speaking as elvish etc etc.

just pay attention to either PvE or PvP.

Rpvp server?! put it this way:

"you're a farmer that lost all stuff during the third war against the scourge, but all the lost are done to you by the horde.

in the time of despair, you found a mighty shovel, imbued with the power of the light had you seeking revenge to the people who had done such horror to your life..."

that translate to:

you're a pally using a mob-dropped level 3 shovel to do world pvp that deals... 55 damage...

10 and 25 man will share the same lockout cooldown naow. and they drop the exact same loot, except 25 man will drop more loot than 10 man.

so there are actually only 2 item tier available in cata:
1. 10/25 man normal
2. 10/25 man heroic

in oppose to now;
1. 10 man normal
2. 10 man heroic/25 man normal
3. 25 man heroic

it will make it much easier to ninja dbw

ill make sure you are the last person to get any tier loot.
