Hi, i am planning to connect my wii to my monitor which doesnt have a component input.

It does have a VGA input so i figure if i connect my wii to this VGA TO TV RCA S-VIDEO ADAPTER CONVERTER CABLE LAPTOP PC on eBay (end time 10-May-10 08:45:05 BST) to my monitor it will work but it doesnt. Did i buy the wrong cable or it should have worked ?

I found something that was designed for wii to connect to monitor through VGA but its more expensive http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VGA-HDTV-MONITOR-CAB...=item5ad8d1234d

So if that works why not my method ?

I can't see clearly the connector in the second link, but the one in the first link won't work because that's a male-VGA to female-RCA.

What you need it actually a female-RCA to female-VGA. Why? because the cable that come out from your monitor is a male-VGA cable.

As far as I know, you will need a VGA box for that. It's not possible to connect RCA output directly to VGA.

it depends on whether your display supports YPbPr or not, but that's not likely the case with most monitors. hmm.gif
