From the outlook... build quality is a whole new level compare to ESW9, nicer tougher plastics, redesigned swivel, thicker cables.. this thing is a beauty! and of course the full cans 53mm driver! drool.gif

BRB...

lol... i thought it comes with pouch?
*
That pouch cannot ler.. if your bag is hardcase bag ok la.. if dump into normal bag sure calar one. Luckily AT learned their lesson with ES7 with its mirror metal cups so now with ES10 they use brush titanium so even if calar also hardly can see it.

So far.. initial impression of ES10 = ESW9 + Bass - Tubie tongue.gif
Even though it is using fullsize driver the entire titanium chamber is just 20mm so the soundstage is still not up to fullsize cans.
user posted image
Yeah... the 53mm driver cover almost 90% of the cup.. sweat.gif

Comfort wise, much nicer the ESW9, bigger cups + less clapping force and smoother swivel. Hope some burn in might bring up some bass resolution.

50% off still need 1K?? damn expensive wei..
*
AT cans usually price higher then the street price. ES10 retailed at 47,250 yen but on street it would be around 31,000~39,800 yen. It is still priced higher then ESW9 though, I think AT created this as mass market version of the limited ESW10JPN.

Btw, since on topic Headfonia just posted a review on AD700. Nice read, always nice to read reviews of your fav. cans.

Can definitely agree that AT cans looks nicer in real life then pictures most of the time.

I wonder how ES10 will sound like with desktop amp since it can accept up to 2000mW of power. Even ESW9 can accept up to only 1000mW...

think that is the correct way to burn-in. drevil told me something along that line. don't use amp when burning in

QUOTE(Akabane@DrJackel @ Apr 23 2010, 09:15 PM)
haha yeap, this is to preventing "exploded".... rclxms.gif
*
Wow... didn't know that at all... lucky I listen to burn-in usually. Kinda like how the sound go on roller-coaster ride especially cans that require LONG burning time like K701.

Cool! gonna check it out next week.
Planning to get in the future, either 1 of:
1. Denon D2000
2. Sennheiser HD650
3. Audio Technica ATH-D2000

wonder which one is better? hmm..
*
Best if you spend some quality time audition it carefully.. all 3 are similar but different.. it's matter of your taste in music, but HD650 you definitely need a headphone amp.

not all can afford the k1k espically the bass heavy version + u need a super setup to make them to fly...
today was a GREAT gathering at pcwork place....needless to say we both suffer heavy casualties on both side...
but pity the bystanders/victims on the war.....they have rethink their whole setup after a major poisoning...
1 is snake king vs devil fang's.....i need to jump to sonus faber while the other need to jump to k1k....sigh
