actually the M50 is still available and still in production. so far DJ line only change to MK2 series...

Different league..most of here does't really prefer monitoring cause is much to production purpose. Mostly in Malaysia market is more to portable. or high-end or Audiophile quality..

Monitoring Headphone = No Emotion just flat even bass will not exceeded/extend cause is for focusing every single instrument and vocal. and monitoring is not fun... M50 still got certain extend of bass i would say.

AD700 what you tested is much more to virgin/new. AD700 can be go further/extend on bass more deeper and wider soundstage. AD700 is just a next step ahead for AD500. My Advise for entry level is AD300 > Then medium range =AD700 >more juicy and more extend till max > AD2000

Suffice? i would says yes. AD300 is a entry level Audiophile range headphone. But if you need more certain extent bass then go for better one like AD700 but for me AD300 just a nice budget headphone and had a certain bass and money for me. I also owned this unit before. would be good to entry level.

The price of AD700 is depend on region and some it might cheaper a bit but not as cheap as RM400 i would see. Please check and authentic weather is genuine or not. AD700 have alot fake version in the market. beware. if you happen never listen to AD700 before the sound or driver can be clone and is not as good as original and the sounding is much 5 linggit sounding. much harsh/not balance in certain level.

Try to burn-in more hours. sounding will change to a certain smooth level. roughly around 500hours or more..

because IMO, MacBook is a good player.

low impedance headphone is example the ohm is below 100 OHM. Audio Technica woody is low impedance so that why i recommend this amp. Currently i'm using it is almost nearly 8 months. felt this amp is much better and improve more than my previous class A amp. Really designed for this ATs woody. If you purchase this amp it will come with Y cable (rca to mini). i think your mac is using mini jack. so it actually no necessary to get another cable cause the cable that package is from Audio Technica product itself. So is much premium i can say. nice cable which is also match certain portable player or CD player. Currently i'm using it with my Portable media (ipod modded) treated as a source out direct to this amp. Synergy W1000 really really musical. I can see you use almost a year mostly quiet frequent use daily? is yes mostly is good run in already. My unit is running for 3 years already. and reach to 2.5k hours run-in. The sound is much perfect for this amp. If you interested and want to know how is the sound, you may visit jaben malaysia at SS15 Subang Jaya to find out more. Changing from K701 > W1000X is a big different. i guess you need to listen on this. cause the sound it may not suitable to you. W1000X is wood cup headphone and what actually sound like is natural tree sound, very nice midd and high is not bad too..suitable for rock, pop, instrument or classical. Bro advise get ESW9 is more suitable your need...but is subject to you ear cause is limited size cause is portable. M50 is a full size but is also fun even is all balance cause is monitor headphone.
