i found vtg actually sets the bar pretty high..
unless i include lavry, i have a hard time beating vtg.
btw.. is there a bulk for the pads?

you need to do burn-in. 2ndly if your songs is a low bitrate one... it WILL sound bad... very obvious....

Hey all... Just bought ATH-SJ3 yesterday. I was looking for ATH T300 or T200 but after listening to the T200 and since T300 was out of stock, I discovered the t200 lack of bass. And After listening the SJ3 I get hooked. I just wonder if I make a correct decisions. Anybody else have try these models? thanks.

just so u know, out of all AT i've tried..
no matter how different the presentation is..
like, forward mids, more bass, bright, wide, etc..

otherwise they all still retains AT's same sounding. so if u tried any ATs.. u'll find the sound to be familiar.
Im not so sure about their newer models, but i figure they'd want to keep their signature sound, since that's one major reason to prefer a brand anyways.
the rest are just variations in model, renews, etc, especially on the entry / mid level phones. Japanese companies have a tendency to renew their product,
kinda like an advertisment thingy telling the people that the company is still around and not went bankrupt.
