well for ur lappy.. u can try using different driver for ur soundcards.. some drivers have those static problems..
u can also use external amps to filter out the hiss.. good amps would have lower circuit noise..
or.. u can use impedance adapter.. but they also alter the signature of ur headphones.. not sure if that's what u want.. and im not sure if that would stop the static sound..
otherwise.. use external DAC.. they shud have little to no circuit noise..

there's not much u can do to remove circuit noise except altering the hardware.
oh.. try adjust your volume control and lower your wav (usually the second bar) that might help with the hissing as well.

as for why LOD.. not all device have support to bypass the amp.. so even if u make an LOD.. if it doesnt bypass the internal amp.. theres no point having one..

i have a LOD for my fuze.. but im not really sure whether it does bypass the internal amps.. i do lost vol control.. the improvement is minor compared to ipod/iphone LOD.. so.. manufacturer's implementation here.

Hi guys. I am still on the iPod issue.

I have read from Red Wine that only generations 4 - 5.5 of iPod Classic has the Wolfson DAC and are fit for modifications.

It's practically impossible for me to find one in the market these days, but I think I have found a place with a lot of stock. I am just not sure if this model that they have : MB565ZP (120GB), brand new, is a generation 5.5 or generation 6. They are selling at RM 899.

btw if any1 of u here is plugin the phones directly into realtek hd port (which i blif is rare since most here are using amp or dac sweat.gif ),do you enable the dolby headphone feature?i tried enabling it but it seems all it does is making the volume softer, and when disabled its louder and i can hear the surround sounds more clearly

testing my cans now with some surround sound vids tongue.gif
