should a F1 fan know how to drive a F1?

If F1 cars are as cheap as a simple pair of shoe and a ball, why not?

I always said this question to all my "kakibangkubutsuperdiehardfootballfans" friends. IMHO,yes each football fans must know how to play football. They always tend that football is easy but actually its not. I have one very close friend who is a fan of Milan. He always poke me with their successful Rossoner history but when I ask him to play football he said that is the dumbest sport ever. What an idiotic answer from a football fans. As for me if your a football fans no need to support one team but you must support the beauty of this sport, you need to be like the football stars then you can realize what is the different being in the pitch or yelling off the pitch.

at least know some basic rules, especially offside and handball. I hate it when i hear someone whining bout some player being offside when he's not interfering with the play at all, or when the referee didnt give a penalty/free kick when a ball hit the opposition's hand, when there's absolutely nothing he can do to avoid the ball (ball to hand incidents)

voted yes. i might not know how to play it very well but i still make an effort to go play futsal. i think you should at least know how the game is played yourself to feel what the players are feeling when they score a goal or something smile.gif

its awesome to score a goal even if its against your friends. lol.

Not necessarily, but if U have played the game, that will help U understand why certain things happen the way they are. For example, injuries, offsides, just to name a few.

Pesta Sukan Treasury 10,000m: 59:07.05 (on the track) was my best time last year. This year ? Dunno yet. Haven't run any 10K races, been doing half marathons. Am targetting 55 mins or better for Larian Bomba.

voted no. don't bother to touch football as I'm not a sporty guy. other reasons same as above. to me football is an art. the way they pass the ball, dribble, cross, shoot. such a beautiful scene. im may be kakibangkubut superduperomgbbqdiehardfan but i don't simply bash/criticize players. human tend to make mistake.

Many ppl are music fans, and they dont need to know how to sing to appreciate the songs.

And they know how to detect if singers sings offkey/offtune.

I think the two are mutually exclusive but football fans should at least know the game before commenting. It's embarrasing when you meet some who don't understand the away goal rule, offside rule, formations, etc. Worse when you cannot even identify players from your own team or are generally clueless when it comes to the history of the game or their team.

Well I'm a living example of someone who doesn't play and I'd hate to think that my postings are any less relevant. I've never been made to feel handicapped at least. The only time I played football is back in secondary school.

IMHO, its not necessary.

Rules can be studied by books. And it is possible to understand the game by watching the game on TV frequently.

The most important thing as a football fan is one must have clear understanding of why football is dubbed as 'the world's game', or 'the beautiful game'. One must 'feel' it.

Having the ability to play doesn't mean he can understand the game. For instance, I have a friend, good at playing football, but he once said Pique is fast doh.gif doh.gif

I guess having a basic understanding gained from playing the sport can open your eyes to how magnificently talented some players can be. Like a Berbatov first touch, a Cryuff turn or a Beckham free kick.

That being said, when a player is being paid thousands of dollars to kick a ball, its not wrong to expect more.

Knowing the science behind it is just as good enough. I'm probably defending myself as I never enjoyed playing football. Hot weather, shit pitches, high risk of injuries from retards thinking they can tackle like Ferdinand only to give me a Shawcross type tackle. But I always appreciated football with a view from the top.

If you know how to play, u will appreciate more of those smooth flicks, cool touches and not simply bashing those players "go play rugby la!!!" when they shoot aeroplane shots
