Left 4 Dead 2's The Passing Introduces Weekly Game "Mutations"

QUOTE
While confirming a Thursday release date for Left 4 Dead 2's "The Passing" downloadable content, Valve also reveals "Mutations," featuring more than 20 new game modes rotated on a weekly basis, from "Realism Versus" to "Chainsaw Massacre."

It's official: Left 4 Dead 2's The Passing will be out on Thursday, April 22 for the Xbox 360 and PC, and it's much more than a new episode, new infected, and a couple of new weapons. According to Valve, The Passing will also include a brand new way to play the game that'll keep players coming back every week for more.

"Mutations," are a series of new game types that Valve will be cycling in and out of the game on a weekly basis. There are more than 20 different "Mutations" planned, including the aforementioned "Chainsaw Massacre," which arms players with chainsaws and an unlimited supply of gasoline.

Now that's my kind of zombie slaughter right there.

All new game modes will be playable on any of Left 4 Dead 2 campaigns, and will be exclusive to players that have purchased The Passing downloadable content.

Purchased being a relative term, of course. Xbox 360 players can expect to pay 560 Microsoft points ($7) for The Passing, while PC players can purchase it for completely free, which I suppose doesn't count as purchasing it at all.

Wireless connection is never reliable for gaming.

Besides, P1 is just absolutely rubbish.

Pop question: Can we play left 4 Dead 2 online with maxis broadband? My speed connection so far are awesome, with limitation of 3gb permonth, is that possible to play several day a week for one month? I always travel, its hard to find a time to play at home with streamyx. So any idea?
*
The problem with wireless broadband is stability.

I have no doubts that you can play L4D2 online, but to be honest, you probably wont enjoy it,as it will be lagging so much.

I paid the actual price , IMO its not worth it. Killing Floor is way worth it , its much more better then L4D.

L4D is fun when you have people to play else it just sits there in your game library waiting for people. I dont play on public servers except if its fun. Joined azhar90's game and it was bloody fun playing with whites. Other then that its boring , especially with asians when half the time they dont have mic and they cant even understand god damn English. Playing with KGM members is nevertheless fun fun fun but a game needs to be organized first !
*
Agreed.

L4D2 has become my official "lets get to together and play" game,as playing with random pubs kinda suck.

KF, anytime as mic isnt as crucial as L4D or at least not at hard difficulty.

Speaking of pubs , let me share you my experience of L4D2 pub

Joined some random starhub or sg server or whatever they call it. A chap joined , he killed all of us and then left. Then after 30 minutes into the game , he joined , did the same thing. Vote kick works , bu then it kinda sucks in a way. I quit playing with pubs because of this and not only that , some of them dont understand basic commands. If somebody say something , dont be a hero and just follow lah. At least playing with friends , we see a leader , usually its edi as he has a great leadership skills or even frags or other l4d pro players.

Seriously , dont get L4D/L4D2 , unless you wanna play with your friends else its a boring game. TF2 is fun , even with pubs , its filled with lulz. I saw some noob medic uber a sniper. Its just pure fun !

I have my own fair share of epic fail moments which pretty much made me stopped playing, unless im at my friend's place.

If you want a good MP Valve game, get TF2.

If you want a decent zombie shooting game, get KF.

OT: If you want a modern shooter, get BFBC2.

OT: If you want a free original game, wait for Alien Swarm. That game probably gonna be swarmed with players.

Im still quite surprised that Valve gave it for FREE,where even if the game cost 19.99USD, i'll still buy it on release. Alien Swarm was a top UT2004 mod back then and i wanted to play it since 2004. Never had the chance as i used to play a pirate copy of UT2004. Sorry Epic.

Hmmm...then how bout the original L4D???I heard servers are still up for that game and more ppl are actually playing it.Well my cousin still plays it and he ditched L4D2 for it.Btw,Killing Floor does not interest me in any ways.

KF looks like an incredibly stupid game, when you look at the screenshots or videos.

Once you played it, it's probably the best zombie shooter.

Why?

- The gun fights are awesome with their iron sight system.
- There is a decent variety in monsters from invisible zombie to some scary zombie with grinders as hands.
- You dont have to worry teamwork as much as L4D, as long as you all stick together.
- The persistent perk system adds a more fun and depth.
- Great amount of maps with different difficulty for different skill level.
- Funny British voice over humor in the game.
- This game is also consistently given free updates like TF2,but not as often.

So...If I say I would like to go for TF2..am I already too late??The game has been going on longer than the original L4D which means more and more experienced player are in the game so the chances of me getting screwed all over and over again are higher??Is there like a Newb or Beginner server to start off with?
*
Nope, even as a total noob, you still can contribute decently to the team.

It has a pretty easy learning curve,if you start with Heavy or Medic.
