I know there are lots of topic about digital 5.1 surround sound system put most are really old and dead already.

I'm actually trying to find a digital 5.1sound system which is <1k for my bedroom. any recommendation? any brand will do.

You can easily get a home theater system which accepts optical input for less than RM1k these days.

I went to the PC fair and there were lots of systems for 800+

home theatre system anybody can give a model? i went to an electronic store ask b4, the sales ppl there lcly tell me at least 2k if u want digital input.

PC fair ah, i vomit blood there, all the sales there blur blur when ask for 5.1 digital, either recommend me non-digital 5.1 or say its digital 5.1, but when i check, dun have digital input.

I got my Samsung display model for RM750 several years ago, not only capable of receiving optical but can also upscale DVDs via HDMI. There are too many models out there, and I'm not really following so can't name you any model.

i also really appreciate if someone can list few models here.

better do some research by myself and read some review from google or youtube be4 bought it..
well, z5500 really a monster... if i were u, i will add another 400~500 for the speaker..
