If ure unlucky, it will take ure mobo n chip to heaven too. Then u'll only have a mofo of a mobo. Hahahaha. Nowadays reasonable PSU only bout rm200 so go get 1 if u like OC. Don't wait until it happens.cheers to know if any chaplang psu like to me to reach 250htt |

QUOTE([the][matrix] @ Jun 8 2005, 01:56 AM) Okey.. sorry... feels like just barging in.. Since ure oso using Abit mobo, I think my thread will be quite helpful for u bro. Read this, http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=1607611. AMD64 2800+ Clawhammer s754 on ABIT KV8-Pro + KVR DDR400 BT-D43 2. Using CM Vortex Ultra.. 3. Just increase the HTT, i think.. the 200 (default) to 215, becoz cannot go higher than that.. restart when loading mbm5.. i dun do using OC software, i use BIOS setting.. Multiplier is 9x, (default).. 4. Newest BIOS revision.. dun remember the number.. see, i really dun want to OC at first, but after seeing my softwares are slow like siput, thinking to OC a little bit.. till 240 pun jadiklah.. but cannot go higher than 2.0GHz.. |

QUOTE([the][matrix] @ Jun 8 2005, 03:04 AM) hmm thanks.. downloaded the amd64 tweaker, what must i do with it? still noob in this.. and issit okey to decrease the core speed, i mean, issit better performance with HTT speed is high, but the core speed is low? Read further into the thread. What I did for 345HTT is only to hit highest HTT record for K8T800Pro chipset only. If u want CPU speed then read on further in the thread. I posted a lot of detailed BIOS settings to hit 260X9 up to 310X9. 310 oso was bootable for max OC oni. Prime stable was 300X9. All the settings I posted in there shud work 4 u coz same chipset. But watch out for ure temps man. |

QUOTE(PCcrazy @ Jun 8 2005, 05:04 AM) It seems that ABIT KV8 Pro just doesnt implement the AGP/PCI lock such as the AV8. The chipset is capable of doing that, it's just Abit doesnt want to implement it. I don't understand why. So all you have to do right now is to check whether the board has a working AGP/PCI lock. It should be noted that the settings must be at 66/33. If any attempt of raising the HTT results in any increment of the values, it means the lock isn't working. Sadly, because of this your proc is going to be wasted... But then again, don't worry as revised KV8pro does have a working PCI/AGP lock. You can browse this web for more info http://forum.abit-usa.com/forumdisplay.php?forumid=47 I read in Custom PC Jan issue that the KV8Pro has full AGP/PCI lock. The review sed that the KV8Pro supercedes the KV8 which was on the K8T800 without AGP/PCI lock. So I just presumed that his KV8Pro got lock. Weird. All these contradicting reviews. Anyway, yeah, if the lock doesn't work then it's crap coz when I didn't lock mine at 1st, it cudn OC for nuts as well. Hahaha. |

QUOTE(rezzz @ Jun 10 2005, 10:13 PM) my psu is TT. in my sig. TT butterfly 480w. (i feel it's not good) If ure gonna buy a new PSU now then go all the way n get at least 500W man. N make sure got all the PCIe n 24 pin stuff coz a good solid 500W shud last u 2-3 years n I'm sure u'll b upgrading to powersucking devices in that time. 400W is like bare minimum.so it's only very little chance if i get better psu & try to get higher. is acbell 400w enough? or should i get acbell 450w? |
