and about PSU...u should never in the first place even think of using it...throw it away...coz its like a time bomb which waits patiently for the time to blow up....get Acbel coz its cheap...get OCZ or Antec NEO or TTGI coz its powerfull...get a Ultra x-connect coz its cun....

Okey.. sorry... feels like just barging in.. here it goes..

1. AMD64 2800+ Clawhammer s754 on ABIT KV8-Pro + KVR DDR400 BT-D43
2. Using CM Vortex Ultra..
3. Just increase the HTT, i think.. the 200 (default) to 215, becoz cannot go higher than that.. restart when loading mbm5.. i dun do using OC software, i use BIOS setting.. Multiplier is 9x, (default)..
4. Newest BIOS revision.. dun remember the number..



see, i really dun want to OC at first, but after seeing my softwares are slow like siput, thinking to OC a little bit.. till 240 pun jadiklah.. but cannot go higher than 2.0GHz.. i've seen my fren done to 2.2GHz using chapalang PSU, feeling jealous..

It seems that ABIT KV8 Pro just doesnt implement the AGP/PCI lock such as the AV8.
The chipset is capable of doing that, it's just Abit doesnt want to implement it. I don't understand why. So all you have to do right now is to check whether the board has a working AGP/PCI lock. It should be noted that the settings must be at 66/33. If any attempt of raising the HTT results in any increment of the values, it means the lock isn't working. Sadly, because of this your proc is going to be wasted...

But then again, don't worry as revised KV8pro does have a working PCI/AGP lock.

Just unplug everything unnecessary such as UV's and stuffs....

I'm referring to that guy, he's using Icute for ocing purpose...That is why I recommended that fail safe method to him, lesser the chances of burning down his rig

my psu is TT. in my sig. TT butterfly 480w. (i feel it's not good)

so it's only very little chance if i get better psu & try to get higher.
