QUOTE(TaiFei @ Oct 14 2005, 12:11 PM) is this ok? [attachmentid=75650] 1. any1 mind telling me the safe volt in air cooling? currently usin xp90 + thermaltake fan... 2. and is the chip voltage impotant? 3. im my smart guardin the my nb overvolt cuz i think i use nb1 cooler.. wat about the ldt bus? thx Gosh you were worried too much, here some answer: 1)That voltage is fine,in fact you will be fine until 1.625V(but temp MUST be +-50 degree) 2)The chip voltage is for stability when o/cing,default 1.5V but it safe even at 1.7V 3)Dont worry about the voltage, and DONT use SmartGuardian,it give inaccurate result.Use nV Monitor instead or SpeedFan Dont worry too much on the voltage,as long as it mantain in safe temperature (under 50 for CPU and system)

I really frusterated with my overclock,my Sempron 2500+ 1.4GHz can only be o/ced to 1.9GHz.But with one stick of RAM,it can fly up to 2.5GHz without trouble.
But which is better: a faster CPU,less slower(3:2) or slower CPU,more faster (1:1)RAM?
And also with 2 stick of RAM,it cant run on other divider but 1:1!!!!!

Heres my entry on this database its not high or collosal overclock(1:1 with cheap memory),but I happy with it Cooling: stock cooler 50% fan speed CPU-Z Validation: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=45300I start Prime95 now,I post some screenies later..... Aquamark3,3DMark2003Pro,3DMark2005Pro and PCMark2004Pro totally stable (post some pics later,if I have time) This post has been edited by Najmods: Oct 24 2005, 02:28 AM

But I simply cant live with 512MB RAM if I want 2.5GHz CPU and in 1024MB it only can be clocked up to 2GHz(285HTT)even 1HTT more it will get a strange error "Detecting array....." after POST

Well,I tested my CPU.This Sempron wont handle 2 stick of RAM above 285HTT. looks like this is the limitation of this CPU,I try to bump the voltage (even up to 1.7V) but it failed Prime95 in Small FFT(data fits in L2 cache),which simply means that it not the RAM that not stable, its the CPU itself is the limitation.
Doing some benchmark,between 1.98GHz 283HTT 3:2 with memory (timing 2,3,2,6) and 1.87GHz 267HTT 1:1 (highest bechable) with memory(timing 3,3,3,8) , the 1.87GHz 267HTT 1:1 is faster than the former.The former get 3600+ 3DMark2005 CPU test and 8400+ CPU score Aquamark3 while the latter get 4100+ 3DMark2005 CPU test and 9000+ CPU Score in Aquamark3
This prove that a high clocked CPU is inferior if it not backed up by a fast memory
Now running at 267HTT 1.45V highly stable and still playing with memory timing, try to find the stable timing
EDIT: The max stable timing 3,4,3,5 at 2.8V memory bandwidth in SANDRA is 94% efficency! Quite good!

I have done EVERYTHING that I think that can be possible to increase my o/cability. BUt it keeps stuck at 285HTT! Stupid DFI mobo!

QUOTE(soulfly @ Oct 27 2005, 03:25 PM) can you post your complete DFI bios timing settings? already use LDT multi 3x? Maybe u need 2.5x.... DRAM Frequency set : 3:2 Command Rate : 2T CAS Latency : 3 RAS# to CAS# delay tRCD 4 Min RAS# active timing tRAS 8 Row Precharge Timing tRP : 4 Row Cycle Time : 15 Row Refresh Cycle Time : 17 Row to Row Delay 4 Write recovery Time : 3 Write to Read Dely : 2 Read to Write Delay : 6 Refresh Period tRTW : 3120 cycle DRAM Bank Interleave : Disable (although enable also stable) Max Async Latency : 9ns Read Preamble Value : 7ns Idle Cycle Limit : 32 cycle Dont know what its name in BIOS but the value is 2 burst Highest I get 285HTT This post has been edited by Najmods: Oct 27 2005, 09:05 PM

QUOTE(wtm0325 @ Oct 28 2005, 01:13 AM) cool dude, i'll trust u can get better timing at at around 236mhz ram speed? for the time being, use 6:5 divider to squeeze the max performance at 285htt now (since this is ur max htt for 2 stick ram), it'll be a better choice That particular Divider wont work, the only divider works is 1:1 and 3:2! Thats why Im so pissed off, asking so many question

Why would when I o/c to 1.9GHz the Prime95 always error while when play games or benching it didnt? Even when I play memory-hog games like BF2 it didnt crash but it plays smooth as butter, and play CPU-intensive games as C&C Generals wont crash?
