if you lock your AGP, you PCI will be locked together also because PCI is running on divider, half of the AGP speed

Najmods,
higher clock speed is the way to go for AMD K8 systems. Running 1:1 is not something important because with the integrated memory controller, running at 1:1 doesn't give any advantage compare to other divider. For your information, 1:1 is already a divider by itself since in K8 architecture, the memory is always running with divider. That is why in CPU-Z, the ram speed is shown as CPU/7. For performance, max clockspeed is the higest priority. |

QUOTE(Najmods @ Oct 25 2005, 03:50 PM) But I simply cant live with 512MB RAM if I want 2.5GHz CPU Your processor confirm can hit 2.5GHz?If you have problem with the 'detecting array' thingy ... you need to tweak: -async latency -preamble time -LDT multiplier these settings are available in the bios. you can try refer to dfi-street.com overclocking database. There, Angry_Games is using the same motherboard as yours. He should be able to help you to run with 1GB ram. Try refer to this link: http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/showthread...?t=11318&page=2 This post has been edited by soulfly: Oct 26 2005, 03:44 PM |
