yes... changing from 10w40 to 15w50 will feel thicker and abit more sluggish....

the numbers stand for oil viscosity... higher the number, the thicker the oil...

Syntium 5000/3000/1000 are fully syn. 800 is semi and Mach 5 is full mineral. Even the Syntium 1000 will cost more than your Castrol semi-syn. The fully syn oils from Petronas are good oils. I'm using them myself (and have used all 3 of them). I cannot comment for the 800 or Mach 5 as I've never tried them.

how to determine whether it's good or not? my father is using Mach 5 on his 21 years old Saga and the engine is quieter from the last time i drove. hmm.gif

using petronas 800 15w/50 because of valve seal leaking and consume oil like there is no tomorrow
unbelievable heavy and sluggish ur car will feel same like 20w/50 mineral oil
but good for those engine that have the engine leaking problem

owner should read this article first.. best engine oil for mitsubishi from protonclub :

http://www.protonclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=20298

http://forum.autoworld.com.my/index.php?sh...ded&pid=1412583

and quote this from nismo club:

i find that Eneos 10-40 is good and better than Q8 10-40 or Magnatec. Eneos
recorded lowest temperature rise when i used it to whack Sepang and
Genting. It maintains at 95celcius where Magnatec and Q8 shoots up to
100-105celcius, where at that level i feel the engine is not as responsive
at a cooler temp.

hehe.. i dun think there is such thing as "best" engine oil... so it varies from ppl to ppl, car to car smile.gif

that 5Celcius different might be due to different temperature too, unless the driver recorded the weather and temperature and put it in his review

magnetec from local spare part shop most probably are fake

cheers ~

Different brand for sure will affecting the performance of ur engine.

Trust me or not, i dont mind at all. Ur car, ur money. Not mine. Huhu
