Manchester United Consider Ambitious Move for £24m Dutch Master

Sir Alex Ferguson is ready to switch his attentions from one Bayern Munich star for another. The Manchester United boss has been furiously chasing French international Franck Ribery for the best part of a year but are apparently more interested in bringing in former Chelsea and Real Madrid winger Arjen Robben.

The 26 year old Dutch international has been in incredible form this season scoring 20 goals as he helped the German side to within touching distance of a German title (only an incredible series of results can prevent Bayern Munich taking the Bundesliga crown) and a Champions League final against Inter Milan.

After spending two seasons at the Bernabeu where he did his best to prove himself to a succession of managers, Louis Van Gaal elected to snap up the former PSV man for £24m, one of the first signings the Bayern manager completed.

Robben has been bombing down the wings with great effect, reminding many of the ability he possessed in his early Stamford Bridge days. Ferguson may feel he will have more luck trying to bring in Arjen than Ribery and is looking to snap up more creative talent and has been told by the Glazers that money will be made available to bring in new signings despite Manchester United being heavily in debt.
