yeap i bought cq42-177tx during kl pc fair.
used for fw weeks and still no problem yet. but i haf noticed the cooling isnt so good (theres alot of 'hot wind' at the vents). a cheapo coolin fan shld do the trick.
and mind u, tho it says it has 4gb of ram, the system only recognises 3gb since its a 32bit win7.
apart from those, the rest is pretty much good.
i think it is quite a reliable brand. used a compaq x1000 few years back and still using it now for 'rough' usage.

edit: and btw, saw a hp shop in 1u, selling 177tx at RM3299 tongue.gif
get ur purchase shop rite!

i believe you could, but then again, nothin wrong with 32bit win7. u just lose 1gb of ram lol.
anyway, i think its pretty much stupid to get a 32bit win7 in this system.

and i wonder its me or anything, i kept losing my hdd space everyday! i tried all sorts of stuff to rectify. got nothing tho. update windows for 600kb, lost over 300mb of space.... any1 getting this?

been doing disk clean-up everyday since day 1, but it doesnt work. i mean, i updated 600kb win update, but when i shutdown, i lost over 300mb. in actual fact, im lost like 4gb in the span of 3 wks... =(

im using norton and MS security essentials. gonna delete off norton once my free trials expire.. u guys think it relates to my weird hdd space losing phenomenon?

maybe i'll try reducing my restore points...

thanks for the help =)

------

i think it really is related to system restore. my current setting is 10gb reserved for restore and im already using 9.08gb... =/

1 year international (plus local) warranty and 2 yrs local warranty.

32 bit - max ram recognised is 3.5g. Varies according to system setup. 177tx shld recognise 3gb (2.99gb to be bloody exact tongue.gif)
64 bit - recognises infinite amt of ram lol (128gb if my brain doesnt fail me)

depending on what u wanna do, 32bit is adequate for most of the daily uses. 64bit if u r a ram freak and wanted more out of ur system.

u can upgrade it anytime to 64bit using win7 upgrade anytime.

just a wee bit out of topic, u actually lost 1gb of physical ram in 177tx. however that reserved 1gb is used for addressing other issues which u wont get to see and touch.

and btw, ati definitely doesnt use any less power judging by the fact it is a dedicated gpu.
yes it needs 3 dvds. ur laptop is about 11-12gb used for win7. thus the amount.
copies everything in ur windows in factory settings.
part of hp cost savin is removing the option of providing oems softwares. and thus 'slightly' cheaper price, as so they claimed, which i dun exactly see it.
