yeah..swype is slightly retarded..Everytime you startup your phone, it will give you an error..According to Swype, changing the input to the original keyboard, then switching back to Sype fixes the problem..Doesn't work for me until I actually reinstall it..Starting to get on my nerves especially when we are actively testing our newly released home-brew kernel..

Hey guys, I've been missing a lot on this thread..Been so busy lately..ughh..Whats the good word guys?

Yeah, these guys are right. If you just come to the forum to get newbie answers - which apparently are already specified, I think its just not fair to other expert users. We have made enough threads with information, guides and tutorials - in-depth with full explanation for your ease. All you have to do is just pick the threads - or search for it. Spare some time and read them up.

I totally second benny888's statement. He's one of my favorite Android users. He took his time, read guides, fully understand the environment before actually executing it. His questions were never frustrating and today, he is also a great Malaysian Android community builder.

We don't shoo newbies away. Really, we don't. We would love to answer as many questions as possible and solve for newbies. We would even retype stuff for you guys because strings like command lines can be a bit confusing sometimes for non-techie. But at this point, the basic information is available everywhere on the forum now. Information that we have typed over and over again. Least that you guys should do is at least read.

No one earns any money for doing this. We are doing this just because we are like you - users of this platform. Its open source and its built by community. Together.

hi guys, wan ask... i got some problem after going to froyo..
I'm trying to install other keyboards on my nexus one.. however, every time i change them, i only get the normal android keyboard... any advice?
*
Froyo's keyboard algorithms are new compared to Eclair. Swype and others will not work until they make it compatible with Froyo smile.gif

I'm worried about the 4 touch sensitive buttons. Is it really that inaccurate? I read some reviews that its respond area centre is actually slightly above to where the buttons are.

I know TS said it required practice. I want to ask other Nexus One owners on what do you feel about it.
*
After using it for sometime, you will find it very easy to use wink.gif Also, our self compiled kernel has a fix for this embedded within. It improves a little of the area of tapping.

One more thing, what about the trackball, how easy it will get dirty by greasy hands? Is it cleanable?
*
Hardly gets dirty really. If you take good care of your phone, it will not get dirty at all smile.gif

Wipe is format - depending on what you are wiping. When you partitioned your SD card, you built several parts of the SD card. Remember? ext, etc. When you do a factory reset, stuff that you can access when your SD card is mounted is NOT deleted. It will only be deleted if you break your partitions and repartition your SD card. Becareful with that.
