Not sure if I understand correctly, but are you trying to connect your N1 to your laptop via wifi, so that your N1 can get internet connection via your laptop's connection (thru lan cable, USB broandband, etc)?

Yes. That's is exactly right. Sometime when i travelling, the hotel only has wired LAN line. 3G is too expensive when roaming. Hence, the best is using adhoc wifi for N1 to get internet.

Yes, it is possible. On your laptop, you have to install a software call Connectify. But only compatible with Windows7 (Win7 Starter not supported).

Install the software, configure appropriate security keys and start the wifi. The software will turn your laptop into a wifi access point. Enable N1 wifi and it should be able to detect.

Sorry I cant provide exact detailed steps. I have tried it on my Win7 Home Premium 64bit and it works. Was using Maxis USB broadband to test.

Just upgraded my microSD card to 16GB Class 6 by Team. Got it off from ebay for around 50 USD. I did a benchmark test on it and it reveals Write=5.81 MByte/sec Read=16.1MByte/s so its Class 6.

Hopefully its reliable smile.gif

Hey all...just realized something on my N1.

I create a new contact (with a mobile number), but it does not display on my Contacts list. Setting to Display contacts with/without numbers also does not display. The number of contacts is always the same number.

However, if I search it, its there. I have rebooted phone, but same case.

Any ideas?

Setup:
CM5.0.7.1 with NexTheme2.0r2

anyone migrate SD card on android before. I have a spare 8GB that I'm planning to add to my Nexus One.

Yeah, I recently upgraded mine to 16GB. There is a topic here which has already addressed this but generally this is what I did.

1. Backup - Titanium, nandroid, sync with google contacts, export to SD card, wavesecure (if really paranoid) - however, I was not able to backup my sms from all the above i think.

2. Take out the old SD card, connect to your pc, and transfer everything to PC.

3. Slot in new SD card to N1, reformat (partition size will depend on whether you are on 2.1 or 2.2 - do a quick search in this forum) using Recovery.

4. Take out the new SD card, connect it to your pc, and transfer only Titanium Backup, nandroid, DCIM and mp3 folder. Copy the vcf contact file also just in case.

5. Might as well wipe cache, da cache, batt stats, but this would be optional.

5. Slot back new SD card to N1. Use Titanium backup to restore only Applications + Data and not system entries. Use Apps2Sd to move apps to Internal or SD storage.

6. Put old SD card on ebay.

Some have reported that first time boot on new SD card may take a while because cache table is being rebuilt. But on mine, it took just slightly longer than a normal boot.

Try it out smile.gif
