QUOTE(rahuldave @ May 11 2010, 06:49 AM) Will Google Stop Producing Nexus One http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?...-one-2010-5.DTLAt least before killing the phone, release the new firmware to fix the bugs please. Anyone knows exact date other than in May 2010 for the latest firmware release? I would agree on the article's comments on the level of efficiency for their CS. And if Google were smart enough ... they should have instead open the sale to international markets instead of restricting it. Good product but someone should fire their marketing guy for coming up with such a 'brilliant' idea to sell the phone.

Guys ... let's not start an argument and comparison between Apple and Android. I got to admit, I wanted an iPhone when it came out but I hated the contract requirement that Apple imposed to the telcos.
I took a gamble with Nexus One and I'm happy with it. I have daily 'squabbles' with my colleague coz my Handcent apps made my interface similar to their iPhone's. My Nexus has helped me so much and bought wonderful memories to my travels.
I resisted the urge to root my phone and hopefully it'll pay off when Froyo is released. (I think I need to backup my card though)
I scorned at Google's rigidness in selling their phones and serves them right when things didn't worked out well. However, I think they should rethink their strategy coz they have a good product but unfortunately the downfall is due to their marketing guy that deserves to be shot in front of their firing squad. They should not stop selling their phone ... there's a ready market out there.

Maybe you could try Quick Settings. There's a button there for quick APN Control which you could turn on or off.

I need help to look for a Thai -> English translation (keyboard) application to work on my Nexus One. I tried an application (can't remember the name) but it could not display the Thai character at all. Appreciate any help ...

Already on Froyo thanks to the guide. Still playing around ... but yes the whole thing look faster. Some apps would not work as it should e.g Handcent, Jorte, CNDict and Ghost Radar - reinstalling does not work, I suspect error is caused by incompatibilities with Froyo.
Can someone advice me on the Install to SD card thing ? I'm not sure whether it is built into Froyo or you will need App2SD?

OK ... I noticed the "Move to SD" feature. I doesn't work on my phone @ the moment and I suspect you need to format and partition the SD card.
Anyone has tried this ? I'm keen to hear what needs to be done to the SD card.

QUOTE(peelfresh @ May 28 2010, 07:47 PM) I got a question! i'm using Nexus one on postpaid maxis. If i do use the APN settings on the 1st page on this topic, there's a 3G logo up in my hp. Will it charge to my bill? coz u know some app they have advert and i realize that its working and scare they charge me ehh.. Possibly some bandwidth is used there coz the advert is dynamic. No way to avoid this unless you switch to no ads version. I use 3G Watchdog to monitor my bandwidth use. Played with the Desire today and I am not very comfortable with the interface. Maybe used to N1 already. This post has been edited by hye: May 28 2010, 08:06 PM

N1 has been good to me. Helped me so much during my travels via the Map (+GPS) feature and language translation. My only comment is the phone which practically sucks battery power.
Found Papago X5 ver 3.0 for Android over the net but not sure of its performance. Personally, I want to get the Garmin software for Android if it is available and hopefully it is not to be exclusively used with the Garmin Phone.
Now looking for a second battery (already found it) and an external battery charger for use with the N1. (Just found it as well).

I recently upgraded (default) my MicroSD card to a Class 6 type. What I noticed is that ... - Phone boot up time is significantly faster - In gallery, the images just glides more smoothly and faster as well.
I'm happy of this new finding (perhaps other bros are already using better SD cards) and I really wonder how does Class 10 cards would transform our phones into.

I'm using a 16GB class 6. Can't find a Class 10 but I don't see why I need to go use a Class 10 coz the price difference is quite a lot. I initially bought the card for reselling purposes but decided to use it myself for the moment time being.

I am currently using a combo of MugenPower batteries + Momax external battery charger. Currently on my 1st day ... charger and battery works as it should. I can't comment much on the lifespan of the battery yet as I'm using my phone as a MiFi and of course battery drainage is just so fast!
I started from about 90% charge this morning and ... I almost lasted the entire day today from 8.30am till about 3pm.
I know there may be cheaper chargers but this one is the only one which is able to charge external battery and phone @ the same time. Plus has options to get the interchangeable power adapters which will come in handy when travelling.

QUOTE(cekpo @ Jul 9 2010, 11:10 AM) You could try buying from here http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Sear...&highlite=nexusBy the way, they're selling Nexus around RM 1.6K - RM 1.7K in Thailand. Dunno where to buy though. Source. Perhaps you understood the information incorrectly. What the site did was merely convert the USD529 directly into Thai Bhat. Don't forget this phone is not shipped to Thailand. The only Asean country that they ship to is Singapore. Even in Singapore it is more than USD529 as they would need to pay the GST. (Thailand also got GST but I'm not not sure how many %) This post has been edited by hye: Jul 10 2010, 07:58 AM

QUOTE(D.Sync @ Jul 19 2010, 12:27 AM) Yeah I know, hence the question BTW is the trackball works well? Will dust or any dirt accumulate easily on it? If it does, is it easy to wipe it off? The notification light will lit for 10s (default without any mod) right? Will it lid so long until the event is being viewed? Trackball works well. No dust accumulation. (I hardly use the trackball btw) Notification light will be there so long you don't attend to the message. I never change the settings so not sure whether you could set it to just 10s.
