To celebrate the N1's V2 thread, I ..... unleashed my kuda kepang. smile.gif

But, I only did very minimal modifications..

1) Use my own compiled kernel 2.6.32.9 android.git kernel + Under Voltage patch
2) Update radio image...

Next.... change dalvikvm....

that's it smile.gif...not need to change everything...

Will update later... now, monitoring my kuda kepang running around the cage/farm.. .smile.gif

Updates, just done the dalvikvm JIT.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...=652911&page=24

FYI, my N1 stil in STOCK ROMs ERE27 built, with minimal changes. smile.gif

I did the Linpack benchmark... without JIT... around 7MFLOPs,.. with JIT ............ see for yourself... smile.gif
BUT, with a CATCH... 3 standards apps will FC ...
1) Google Voice
2) Google My Upload
3) MP3 Store...

I hope that are the only apps which failed with the JIT mod... smile.gif

TQ.

Revert back to stock dalvikvm. JIT enabled dalvikvm is good but stable for reliable usage.

24 hours on my compiled kernel. Very satisfied. wink.gif

Telco/service : Celcom 3G, voice+ unlimited data plan

Note: This is the best download speed ever. smile.gif BTW, everything depends on the telco's network condition... so it might varies all the time. smile.gif

Look at "Battery Usage'. Which processes were the battery sucker? smile.gif

Or, try to use other KERNELs... example DIET kernel...,

ROM? smile.gif ... Just stock 2.1update1, ERE27 build. Eventhough I rooted my N1, but, still using the stoock ROMs.

Errrr... BTW,, I think all the N1 users will charge their N1 when they are going to sleep smile.gif...

N1 is not like 'Nokia 3210', an old basic phone anymore.. If I am not using it, standby mode, I then it can last 2 or more... But, for normal use, I also got almost about 24 hours.

I think shahz has some tips to maximize battery life... BTW, what is the most battery sucker app ?

Based on my N1 experiences, the most power hungry 'part' is the DISPLAY. I estimated, I can get 300 hours of standby if I don't use the display/screen at all:).

Also, I am limited max CPU frequency to 500MHz all the time and use 'conservative' cpufreq's governor. Still I able to play 3D games withou any problems. (+ using slimmed down kernel) . For the example, I got 26.8 fps for 3D Neocores benchmark, but only 3.6 MFLOPS in Linpack's benchmark (7MFLOPS@998MHz) . Since I am just uisng the N1 typical smartphone, without any number crunching calculation, I safely can set the max cpufreq to 500MHz, or less if I wanted to smile.gif

I watched the How to save battery life clip, and if you realized, the battery usage for Display was 7% @ 13h47m9s at the starting of the clip. But, if you look carefully at the end of the clip, the Display used 8%@13h54m17s ... so in about 7 minute, Display consumed 1% of battery life smile.gif.

So, by less using the display, we can save quite significant amount of battery life. smile.gif I set the screen timeout to 15sec, or set to standby just after using it. Previously, I used the Task Killer, but, now I just leave to Android to handle it by itself. I just need to monitor Battery Usage more frequently smile.gif.

Other things are, I am using any LIVE wallpaper. If you are using wallpaper, use a wallpaper with 'darker' tone. Because, OLED will use more power when it want to produce WHITE or whiter/bright colours. In my case, I only use solid black wallpaper. smile.gif

2) I am using any widets, except the Google Buzz widget.

3) Always check battery usage or running apps if you feel 'warm' Sometime, your N1 might working hard to get connected to your telco, so, make sure you have a good reception. Luckily I am living and working at places which have strong signal smile.gif

4) Use less Google Maps. smile.gif... Why?
a) Google Maps must use 3G connection... this one is quite power comsuming
b) Your screen need to be on all the time... further more, the Map is in WHITE which consome even more power.
c) GPS chipset and CPU must do lots of calculations, more power to be consumed .

Thank you.

I got .... 35hours... with 29% left. Should be able
Now we can see that tha Screen/OLED display is the real power sucker...smile.gif Snapdragon chips are quite qood and impressive when running Android.s

No comment about the camera quality.... smile.gif but for sure, the Carl T Zeiss branded lenses has it's own specialty. BTW< HTC is not a camera/lenses comapany, so I don't really care much. smile.gif

BTW,

Actually snapdragon is very efficient chipsets. Furthermore android os and linux kernel are very efficient software too. Even at 500 MHz, most of the apps are running smoothly. Why need more? smile.gif

Anyone who has AP with wireless N:
Please try the Nexus One's Froyo wlan-N capabilities. It should connect at N mode.

I also found the QuickOffice PDF viewer is much usable now, with the multitouch zooming.
