New Nexus owner here biggrin.gif
A bit of review here. My previous phone is HTC G1.
So, when I got this phone obviously the smoothness is really awesome compared to the 1st model. I will just compare based on my previous hone which is G1 biggrin.gif
Review:
Almost lag free on all department(ie camera, contacts, messaging etc)
3G issues: doesn't bother me coz in my opinion this issue also exists since the G1 era. What i did was just put it on 2G and untick back and the 3G will resolve.
Sound quality: doesn't improve much
Screen: improved by using AMOLED!!!!
Camera: other than the 5mp quality I would say the camera captures almost immediate.
browser: improves speed maybe bcoz of much higher ram
Phone design: Much Much Better

Even to get root and installing new rom is easier than G1.

Well, I pretty much covered much of the area and feel free to contact me if you want to know more. I'll try to add further.
btw, I would recommend to use cyanogenmod rom bcoz it improves a lot of the speed and doesn't change at all of the UI. Afterall I kinda like the UI in Nexus. Sense UI for me doesn't give any good impression to me maybe because I once tried the HTC Hero UI and I personally think it doesn't change much even the widget is about the same.

Heya guys,

Any suggestions of any good video converter?

Currently using Cyanogen 5.0.6. If I were to change roms, would my contacts and any other datas and programs be lost?
*
Bro, ur contact won't lose if you synchronize with your gmail account. I would recommend you to download backup tool such as backup for root program to backup everything and save it in your memory card. After flashing the rom, you just simply restore it.

If you like to try CM 5.0.7-N1-Test1:
http://n0rp.chemlab.org/android/nexus/testing/

Important notes:
- Not compatible with Desire Status Bar (will end up un-finish bootloop even wipe)
- You may need to uninstall the Market updates after using some Metamorph theming, or else you may facing FC after complete download apps at Market.
- Not performing well with previous Pershoot UV/OC Kernel. Pershoot already release a new kernel which working smoothly for CM 5.0.7-N1-T1.
- Pershoot Kernel for CM 5.0.7-N1-T1 Link: http://droidbasement.com/db-blog/?p=322

My Opinion of CM 5.0.7-N1-T1:
- Overall is smoother, at least now can use with Live Wallpaper, not that lagging as in CM 5.0.6-N1
- Still work with HelixLauncher2 v0.7 biggrin.gif
- NoData toggle is working perfectly now, anytime on and off also working. No restart is required to life back the data connection.
- Mounting the SDcard is working all the times now.
- Startup is much much more faster than CM 5.0.6-N1.

* The last picture showing the "3" music player is not included in CM 5.0.7-N1-T1 ROM, just showing off how cool this player are.

Naah...i think i'm gonna stick on the 5.0.6 until cyan release it as stable. Some more not much difference, as long i could play fishing game, i'll stick with it

Couldnt agree more with Andrew. Cant we just stick to Nexus One only topic? New awesome apps found, issues, enhancement etc. That would be more great then talking all the pros and cons which at the end the topic will be neverending

yeah if ur using brut the voice navigation is always late, so if ur using it just mute it. But for the navigation part for me is a OK. Accuracy is depending on the map whether it is up to date or not.

Yes, it is possible. On your laptop, you have to install a software call Connectify. But only compatible with Windows7 (Win7 Starter not supported).

Install the software, configure appropriate security keys and start the wifi. The software will turn your laptop into a wifi access point. Enable N1 wifi and it should be able to detect.

Sorry I cant provide exact detailed steps. I have tried it on my Win7 Home Premium 64bit and it works. Was using Maxis USB broadband to test.

Yes...in other words, you will have to install a 3rd party software in you computer to make it work so that you computer or laptop becomes AP(access point)
Then from your N1 search the AP name which you configured in your computer. Thats it.

checked on the cyanogen update....the 5.0.8 is coming up but not froyo edition. Still it includes the latest radio which is from froyo. Maybe you guys can give it a try. It's still not considered as stable, so, you need to download it from cyanogen github. I just continue using froyo because eventhough it's not official, but overall, it still workable for my daily use. The battery consumption also to me is great. If I use phone calls, email and facebook alone for 1hrs ++ per day, the phone could last up to 1.5 to 2 days!!! If rarely use, it could last 2 and a half days. Thats my experience in Froyo biggrin.gif
