QUOTE(rahuldave @ May 16 2010, 12:13 PM) Thanks a lot bro, it works like charm. Appreciate some answers please?Just wanna ask you guyz, after flashing to CM 5.0.6, Does the battery drains faster? By the way GTalk Service and Fring Call Service always starting on its own even after I stop it, Applications>Running Services>Apps>Touch and Stop. Is there anyway not to let those apps running in background unless we select to open it manually? By the way how to install ADW Launcher, seems to be too technical for me. Can someone list down the steps to install it? |

Many of these so called new users want quick answers. They are not willing to read and research. I spent a week reading Shahz initial postings and follow several web forums before I bought the phone. So when I got it I was already 90+% ready and on day two I root it - all these thro just reading up first

Hey guys, I've been missing a lot on this thread..Been so busy lately..ughh..Whats the good word guys?
Yeah, these guys are right. If you just come to the forum to get newbie answers - which apparently are already specified, I think its just not fair to other expert users. We have made enough threads with information, guides and tutorials - in-depth with full explanation for your ease. All you have to do is just pick the threads - or search for it. Spare some time and read them up. I totally second benny888's statement. He's one of my favorite Android users. He took his time, read guides, fully understand the environment before actually executing it. His questions were never frustrating and today, he is also a great Malaysian Android community builder. We don't shoo newbies away. Really, we don't. We would love to answer as many questions as possible and solve for newbies. We would even retype stuff for you guys because strings like command lines can be a bit confusing sometimes for non-techie. But at this point, the basic information is available everywhere on the forum now. Information that we have typed over and over again. Least that you guys should do is at least read. No one earns any money for doing this. We are doing this just because we are like you - users of this platform. Its open source and its built by community. Together. |

question about froyo update. I'm getting my nexus one this friday. Should i update to froyo first then only root the phone and install cynogenmod?
Btw, if i update to froyo, i won't be able to use htc sense roms until htc has updated their sense UI to support froyo right? |

Should i update to froyo first then only root the phone and install cynogenmod? erm yes that's what i'm doing now with my Desire.. although i doubt Desire will get froyo update as fast as Nexus one.. huhu.. and i guess u're rite regarding the sense roms..Btw, if i update to froyo, i won't be able to use htc sense roms until htc has updated their sense UI to support froyo right? imagine Nexus One that is way faster than now and capability to install apps on sd card.. it makes root less desirable for average joe.. but later on enthusiast like us definitely will get bored and root is the only way to have full control of the device.. |
