I have more than 30 games that I can play without needing to pay monthly fees. That's the benefit for quitting subscription based games.

Quit WoW more than 2 years ago.

Unable to login = quite wow.

i tried to quit 2 times.. the longest was 4month..
if u really want to quit, try to refrain from going to anywhere near wow not even website.i was checking mmo-champion.com everyday to check latest news even after quiting..truly my mistake.

and yeah if u know how make gold , u wont be needing ever to pay monthly subscription. i juz bought gametime and the demand never end for gold . 1 month can get to 30k buy gametime 6k-8k for 2 month.. win win situation

wow is fine, don't blame the game like the china's goverment and parent do.
you can play cheap offline game and still unable to make ends meet.
you can also success in life, cuddle and still get loot form lich king.

its all about a control on your daily life or time management, the balance.

even you sell your account, there some of us just buy a new account and start over.

find your priorities.

realised what you have lost because of wow (mine is she left me and i dont think she wil be back, and other opportunity lost)

http://www.wikihow.com/Stop-Playing-World-of-Warcraft

for hardcore solution to quit wow, see beow:
Cautionary Warning: see at your own risk

p.s. i still dont considering comming back(until i got the balance that i always wanted.)

I quitted wow for good at march 08. Never regretted it ever since! It was wasting away my 2.5years with wow. After which I realised how much I have gained without staring at my 22' lcd screen 3hrs a day, 30hrs a week! It was a fantastic game, the BEST pc game I have ever played, arguably the best pc game in the world.

It was extremely tough to quit. Probably one of the hardest thing I have ever done. The urge kept coming back. Why? Because I had put so much time and effort in it. I was the amazing druid in my guild, with the very best and latest gears. Everyone is admiring me. It served as the only inspirational purpose for me; I truely belonged to this world, I was so comfortable and in my comfort zone, away from the stresses, hassle and uncertainties of life. I escaped from the unhappiness of my life and what's going around me. The joy and fun and freedom to be in the game is priceless. I learned more to dwell longer each day into the game, wasting more of my precious time where I could spend quality time with my family and friends. No, I was too afraid to let go! Letting go seems like impossible. Its too damn hard to quit! Until I realised what damaged had it caused. I lost it completely and entirely. This game had consumed me. I needed to find a resolution before I'm truely sucked into this world of isolation and neglect.

I quitted and deleted my account once and for all for good, for me! It was once again the toughest thing but the best thing I have done for myself. I saved my own life. I was back on course in living normally like everyone else. My true account was still vivid till this moment. Why is wow so fantastic? It is a computer game where everyone can mingle with each other to play together, raid together and bond together in a virtual world. You never meet those players whom you have play with. It creates a sense of belonging. What ever you do you can always do it again. If you failed a quest or failed to obtain your dream tiers, or your failed in raids in killing the next toughest boss, you logged out and logged back in and try again the very next day! There is no consequences in wow. But in life, whatever choices you made, whatever you do will have an impact or consequence in your life. People find it extremely hard to quit and blamed it on the game.

Utimately blizzard is only trying to make money. The only person to blame is yourself! Not blizzard! You choose what life you would want and bear the consequence. To those fellow of thinking of quitting wow, I strongly encourage you. You would never have understood the joy once you step outside of this circle and truely enjoy life thereafter. Its the best thing you can do for yourself. Do yourself a favour, quit wow!!

b4 quit wow
raid 6 days per week.
fall asleep infront keyboard.
stay awake till 2am.
fall slept at work, LOL.
lock myself at room
1 meal per day during school holiday (pre BC)

After Quit WoW
Exercise regulary
lost 20kg
contact often with friends
Much concentrate at work

but the "addiction" still lurking within me.

"He" keep wishpering " I'll be back" and waiting the perfect time to made revenge and conquer on me once again.

Felt shivering each time recall those old day.

After quiting still update via wowhead or wow web,
check on latest eq, dungeon, update, boss 1st kill, and etc

How do I quit, my guild disband biggrin.gif

good luck TS smile.gif

I always find it simple to quit WoW. This is usually what happens to me

-Ding Level 80! Gratz! Now grind for gear
-Oh you got gear?? Eh?? Y u still haz Bluez...we only allow all purplez
-Oh? All purplez?? Hows your DPS/Defense Rating/HP/Armor/Stamina/Heal Rating/(whatever else nonsense)
-Oh? You got those in a respectable value?? Okay...now...got achievement?? Cause we are too f***ing lazy to teach n00bs.
-Oh? No achievement but you know what you doing?? Okay...we let you try.....
- <After wipe> WTF?? You can't even tank/dps/heal for nuts. Please GTFO pl0x (kicked from raid group)
- Join Beginner Raid Guild (lol like that exists).
- Dorama in Raid Guild ends up with who guild disbanding
- Mentally said "F*** it" to raiding and start doing dailies for Gold
- Burnout after 2 weeks of dailies and running through dungeons
- Delete WoW.exe
- Everyone lives Happily Ever After

people who miss the taste of Vanilla WoW will come back during cata, especially when Blizz has been spouting dreams after dreams that their adventure will be identically epic as those in Vanilla...

believe me, that aint gonna happen... i want my 20 hours AV back!

I do miss vanilla WoW. Those days were way better. I love seeing both alliance and horde fighting for world bosses fights and hard raids.

20 hours? I've seen more than 3 days AV. lol

I won't be coming back on Cataclysm though. Rather play more new games than playing the same old game with new contents.

Similar situation.... until Blizzard starts banning them. It was so funny.

Heh, my guild got bored of PvP then gone hardcore and rolled all the raid instances for vanilla WoW. Some are server first. I still have some screenshots somewhere too.

Well I quit and came back and just pvp..its more fun and i can manage my social life as well. Just waiting to start arena and see if 'that' ruins my social life.
I used to remember pve'ing seriously at level 70, tanking and later being a balance druid... i used to take MC's from work because honestly I wanted the feral staff from Hyjal, or later months later when I went balance, I wanted the trash drop spell mace from hyjal and stuff from BT, good times, but it ruined not only my social life but my work standards.
So right now, I am back, I love pvp.. even though its just BG's so far... but its fun..and I can manage everything well. I think one thing is that we can't control our addiction to the game.. pve does that.. alot!

i quitted almost a year... back then my guild clear up the 3 dragons place (forgot whats the name) so early that we had to repeat the same instance again and again every week coz blizz have not release the later instances.. then i just quit haha..

whenever i feel the distant between me and wow getting further, the urge to replay gets stronger. however i wont have the time anymore already . also stuffs like diablo 3, starcraft 2 and guild wars 2 are releasing sooner enough

Reading the successful quitting makes me want to try again lol. Quit once for like 1-2 yes then came back for bc then took a few 1-2 month break but still play. Only log on for raids now tho. Maybe I would quit better if I delete but feel so sayang.

i quitted wow long ago, after my guild killed yogg-saron. never turned back. unavailability to decent internet connection is the main reason. moving house, lost raid spot, then lost interest in wow. good for me. real life is much better. winning loot is not even half as fun as scoring a one nite stand.

anyway, considering to come back when cataclysm opens. just to experience the world once more.

quit that game few years ago.

thinking back the time, its really nostalgia.

but the end game content - raiding and pvp eventually wear down the fun.

when u lost your raid spot, can't cope in with the guild, unfairly treated, more friends leaving the game.. you will soon lost interest in raiding and soon will stop playing.

Been stop for 1 -2 months.. lost interest in raid... but still keep the account to play on and off for some old world content. No more 4-5 hrs sticking butt at the chair in front of the PC... RL seems more relax lol.

Maybe back during cata if i can last that long before i even give up lowbie fun lol

lol.. u can be addicted to anything, (not only WOW le) if u tend to be 2 extreme... eg.. fishing (real fishing not wow fishing) mbe worst till never go back home sleep.. motosport maniac?, more money would be spent here.. photography?.. hmm u need to spent outdoor a lot which need money 2.. + at least 6-8k investment for good kits, lepaking with frens?.. wasting more time + they r all like vampires. sux yr money without u knowing it.. rofl
... other on9 game?.. it just sucks even more where hacker rule it all.. /peace
