Dear Chua,
If thea tea u tested fro 3diff yrs still give same problem, most probably that's due to the processing method to produce the tea. upcar, SS2 Shop call tao ran ju if not mistaken, they have a booth there too. they r selling most of the tea at rm55/100g if not mistaken. anybody know which shop/booth selling good red tea? |

QUOTE(bret7 @ Oct 23 2012, 07:59 PM) Does anyone know where to get awesome quality green tea in Penang or Malaysia? if japanes green tea then can try Hojo at the Garden beside Mid Valley. All I see in stores are those bagged ones, which are generally just dusts of green tea. I'm looking for the leafy types, or as unprocessed as possible. Thanks! if chinese green tea, The curve, Legend of tea (gu yi chai)'s bi luo chun seems not bad... if u r afford to pay expensive price and want something really good then try Long Jin in Tacha,Kepong...~rm290/50g...i like it very much but can't afford to buy... |

If u all wish to know how different chinse made zisha pot will bring out the tea, then go tacha kepong, u can ask the boss to try n test out there, can also try their tea. Their raw pu erh is worth trying better than hojo in my opinion for the similar price product.

Those people treat it as investment not a daily use pot, i remember 1 of the owner told me last time. He said it is better than invest a house/apt as the price rise faster and do not need a lot of paper work, not need through lawyer, no need to pay tax of selling and so on and can be liquidize faster tahn a permanent property like real estate...
If not mistaken his pot ~10yrs ago price~20-30k... Anyway that only apply to the pot which is catergorize as "art"...now a lot "technical/skillful pot" but sell as "art" which not worth the price.. Zhang Zheng Zhong is now consider as State Master level of pot maker...so potentially to be the national level Master. |

QUOTE(tankv22 @ Dec 20 2012, 04:08 PM) The price will rise when the crafter/maker are no longer in this world. Zhang Zheng Zhong looks young to me and most probably he will make 1000s more of these pots. u r right too but market will decide the value. But still 300K for a pot? Gu jing Zhou (pass away)'s pot sell at >RM8million. Those smart real artist will control their no. of pot make. Besides, their energy level, concerntration will drop by age thus the product quality will drop. If not mistaken he make <3pots/month now. so the highest price pot of the artist may not be the latest pot he made but the best pot hemade during his best performance. example: Ge tao zhong's pot now is not selling as high as his pot made in 90s when he is at his best performance. those who buy the pot had actually book the pot> 1years ago. anyway there are some so call national master is hired people to make for them n sell it as well...so must be very care on selecting the artist for investment. in china zisha world now, the pot maker is increasing their price every 3-4 months. example zhang zheng zhong's student wang qiang-- his ppot price in 2010~10k...now can go up to 40k. his student's pot in 2010 sell at ~1k now is 2.8-3.5k. So it is up to individual to judge.... |

QUOTE(stimix @ Dec 31 2012, 10:31 PM) Last week I was at the Long Jing tea farm at Hangzhou west lake region. When they told me the price of RMB100 (RM50) for just 50g.. I was like wow...damn expensive. Taste well, like Japanese green tea minus the roasted rice haha since they do not add the roasted rice.. RM50/50g consider cheap for long jin since now is off season, thus long jin at this month shld be cheap n of lower quality. My most expensive tea.... Here's the Long Jing tea farm.. this is just beside the shop: ![]() These are the 2 diff quality long jing teas. I choose the most expensive wan which was much greener..double the price of the low quality type ![]() Best longjin shld be the several day b4 cheng bing. (Ming qian long jin)- most of it sell at >rm200/50g if u r malaysian n stay in kl, when 2013 new arrive long jin come (~apr-may) try it in tacha (FOC) then u will have idea wht a good long jin suppose to be. it shall have a bit of soya aroma... japanese high grade tea more to sea weed aroma... Added on January 2, 2013, 8:59 am QUOTE(auhckw @ Dec 31 2012, 11:52 PM) Time to wrap up 2012. u r welcome to stock your pots at my place...ah..ha...This year, with new job and new hobby in sports (running), I have spent less time on tea shopping. Therefore, didn't purchase much tea / teaware but not losing touch either. My biggest purchase this year would only be these: Tacha Teapot set http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1392369/+2600 *Post 2609 On Christmas, I bought myself 1 more Zhuni teapot from the set above. I like it a lot, so decided to get a spare in case. Size 150ml (smaller by 10ml compared to the first). » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « I hope in 2013, I will have time to brew tea at home which I haven't been doing at all in 2012 (all my teapots are packed and stored in container, what a waste). Wishing you all a good happy new year. Hope for a good tea harvest ahead and the price of tea and teaware will not go up so much. Haha This post has been edited by sss333: Jan 2 2013, 08:59 AM |
