same..it would be cropped as the 50 1.8..just dat the minolta one can be used on FF cameras,and d 50mm 1.8 cannot (it would still be cropped and not truly 50mm on FF as the minolta)

i think albert has elaborate on this matter b4...IQ wise should be more or less the same with the newer 50mm has a better coating and flare control...correct me if wrong...

guys...do u all buy Dry Cabinet to store the dslr and lenses?..if got fungus and stil under warranty, can claim?..i just asking..

I still do not have a Dry Cab. Planning to buy one (donno when).
But I use my camera every few days... so, I dont think I have much to worry at the moment.

once the lens been through a very drastic weather condition it will easily have fungus....

u go inside KLCC stay for one hour then come out to the park...the lenses will have very heavy condensation within it..

because i saw some pics at FLickR, some street candid pics where the person looks directly at the photograper. if it was me, i wont haha . u know what i mean . if i was in a group or geng i dont mind , but if solo sometimes i dont dare bring out my gear (pow, cilok and stuff)

zstan: Barrel distortion is where the center of the image is a bit bloated compared to the sides.

barrel distortion is when the center of an image actually looks like a barrel..

and the opposite (kinda) is the pincushion distortion... lol.

was reading reviews on tammy 1850..

the name is already street candid...its something u do instantly...try googling chot touch....great street sniper...he can basically go street candid armed with 50mm and his trusty nikon...

checkout this review..the guys also shows how strong the distortions are on each end of the zoom..

pincushion is when the image is curved inwards..



left: normal , Mid: barrel distortion, Right: pincushion distortion.





usually photos of buildings are prone to these 2 distortions.
