QUOTE(Cannonfodder @ May 5 2010, 10:18 AM) If you are an existing customer, remember to tell them to activate 3G if you have not done so previously. I wasted a whole day trying to find out why I wasn't getting a data connection with DG after moving from MAXIS to their Smart Plan. After 4 calls to Digi with 4 incompetent service personnels offering various BS non-working solutions, I finally got lucky with the 5th guy who said that GPRS was not activated for my account. The smarter choice does not turn on 3G by default when you sign up for the Smart Plan. Also, they changed some settings on my account, rendering my Caller ID inoperative. So if you guys suddenly get UNKNOWN callers only, call Digi, 5 minute fix. I wasted a whole day trying to find a solution, hard-resetting la, installing ADB la, changing simcards la. Adoi. Service guy: Sir, the system shows that GPRS is not activated for your account. Me: Okay... I am on the Smart Plan right? Service guy: Yes. Me: Why is GPRS not activated automatically for Smart Plan? Service guy: Our system have limitation. Me: Can you activate now? Service guy: Yes. I'll do it now. But for the next 24hours, it will be Pay As You Use. Me: What?!! But Smart Plan is unlimited data right? Service guy: Yes. But this is system limitation sir. Me: Is this fair to me as a customer? Service guy: ... it's not fair At this point, I was thinking.. fine whatever. I'll still use data as soon as I get GPRS service, and just complaint kau kau if I get charged extra for pay as you use data on an unlimited data plan. By the way, according to him 3G is activated upfront. Just not GPRS and you can't get any data connection much less 3G if GPRS is not activated Will wait for my bill end of this month and see... QUOTE(raist86 @ May 6 2010, 08:27 AM) can i use the smartplan on nexus one? Can i still keep my sup lines and have the free calls and sms to sup lines? Short answer: YESLong answer: Smartplan is a data plan so any phone with GPRS, EDGE, 3G, HSPA can use it. Your sup lines will be on the standard RM30 per month plan, and calls and sms to them are FREE. |

Anyone know if video calls are also free between principal and supplementary lines with DG? They only mention calls, sms and mms in their product description.
