Anywhere to check network coverage for Smart Plan? I just want to make sure the places I normally go (work and home) has good coverage before I sign up for this.

If Digi packages Desire with Smart Plan at good price, I may jump into Android now rather than waiting for EVO.

Thanks for the link. Looks like both my home and work place has no 3G coverage. My home dun even have edge. Need to wait until Digi upgrade the network then only I can switch.

most likely it will but Maxis has the exclusive for 1 month, so we need to wait until June 27 for other telcos to launch Desire. Dun worry, Digi, I will wait for your bundle.

sigh... waited 1 month for nothing.... time to cross-over the causeway to get my Desire.

about the same as the AP price - highest is S$750, about RM1,800. But 1 most important factor i like about buying hardware from Spore is the customer service. If there is anything wrong, you can just take it back at the Service Centre and get it rectify quickly. I think for phone most likely it will be not rectify on the spot but my computer hardware RMA normally can be done at the spot - normally they will give a replacement, usually new item, on the spot if they have buffer stock.

In contrast. if anything happen to my hardware bought in JB, it will be sent all the way to KL and take some time, normally 1 month, to get it repaired and send back to me.

I am in the same situation, I seldom make call so the Smart Plan is more suitable for me but too bad they do not offer Desire.

haha.. i am also family man with 2 small kids. Always kena nagged by wife for too much BC2.

coz if sign up for plan - RM68 monthly then it will be better for me to sign up Maxis plan coz retail price is about RM2,099. If RM2,099 - RM1,499=RM600 / RM48 per month for Maxis 500MB data plan, I will fork out RM2,075 for Desire + 1 year Maxis 500MB data plan. If i buy retail and sign up Digi, I will have to pay RM2,099 + RM68 x 12 month = RM2,915. A big difference.

If I manage to get an AP Desire from Spore for RM1,750-RM1,800, then I will just use the phone without any data plan.

That's my reason for saying "defeat the purpose for data plan". If I want to sign up for data plan from any Telco, I will make sure i will get some rebate from the phone retail price.

Is the RM58 a new package? What is the difference between the RM66 Data unlimited and Internet Unlimited? And what's the difference with DG Smart Plan - RM68?

After getting my Desire, now very itchy to sign up for a data plan.

dun wait anymore, Digi won't be adding Desire to its line-up. In the end I got an AP set from Spore after wasted 1 month waiting for Maxis to expire the exclusive right to Desire and expected Digi has a plan for Desire.

The next phone Digi will push will be the Iphone 4. So the current Desire will definitely be shelved. But maybe they will launch the later Desire HD/HTC Ace later this year.

Now waiting Digi to upgrade their 3G network in JB before I jump ship.

but it din mention, hope Digi staff here can clarify. Can sign up at JB or must go PC Fair KL?

looks like Digi focus more on mid-end Android phones rather than higher end like Desire.

Hopefully this round the Desire HD will be packaged under SmartPlan too.

Just went to Maxis to separate out my principal line to another account and then straight away went to Digi to sign up the SmartPlan. Hopefully Digi won't disappoint me, especially the coverage area at my home and work place. Can't wait to see the H sign at my Desire.

i have been with maxis for many years already. I separated my sup-lines as i want to try the service of Digi first before i also bring over all my 5 sup-lines over. If Digi come out with Desire HD package at good price later this month, most likely i will sign up for the contract if the coming weeks testing is good.

what make you think that I have bought a phone with Maxis? No, I bought my Desire from Spore. Most likely I will get the upcoming Desire HD from Spore too if Digi not bundling it with SmartPlan.

Btw, a few questions on Digi SmartPlan before my line is activated:
1. Does SmartPlan phone line come with roaming (i mean phone call roaming, not data roaming) by default? Or we need to go/call Digi centre to activate? Coz I travel to Spore quite often.
2. For Desire user - under the Mobile Network Settings >> Network Mode - can still using GSM only or must change to WCDMA only or GSM/WCDMA auto? My understanding is 3G is using GSM but i am not sure.
3. Once we put in the Digi Sim Card, all the APN will be setup automatically or we need to manually set it up?

EDIT: I think bro mikelee need to update some info at the first post - the subscription of BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) will need to add additional RM10 now.
