What is the difference between running on battery and on power adapter? Is it like those windows laptop where whenever you unplug your power, the LCD backlight will be dimmed and the laptop runs slower?

If there isnt any case like the above, I rather use battery all the time and only charge it when it is low.. =D

My way of doing it is I usually run battery once or twice in a week and other days AC power will be on all the time... Is that alright? smile.gif

hi guys..
i just placed my order on my 1st MBP at Apple Store..using the "Buy with 1-Click" option. but curious on 1 thing..on the CC part it stated only with an asterisk followed with last 4-digits of CC..e.g. : (Mastercard : *1234 ) Is that normal or it should appear the whole digits of the card? Kindly advice..

Looking at the following apple website, it seems that the newer MBP comes with adaptive charging .. no idea how it is different though from the old school ..

http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/battery/

Probably the newer MBPs don't have the problem that I've on older MBP.

@izact I also faced that one before... Should be normal... Did you have itunes ID before? If yes then they already have a record of your CC..

@wiraone Hmm... As what I read from your given link... You can plug in and out and it states that a few plug in and out may add up to only 1 charge which current new MBPs can go up to 1000 charges... Not sure though...

@tarvalslain87..what a relief then..fuhh..yes i hv the itunes ID and the whole process was signed in from that ID. but i did re-entered the CC digits in the "Buy with 1-click" setting just to confirmed. So..for now..i just need to wait for the shipment day lah..is there anything i should expect within that period?

i saw the option to turn off n on..
the thing is.. its suppose to work like this,
when in bright light conditions, they keyboard lite wud be off, in dark environment, auto-on
so, to try, i first set it to full, cover and un-cover the sensor, it shud show an effect of turning on n off the keyboard lite...

when u cover the sensor.. u try to press f5/f6.. u will see some drop in the indicator..

My 13" capacity is much lower. tongue.gif I have already done 2 cycles laugh.gif I would like to ask, is it alright if I plug my MBP 24/7 to the charger everytime I use. When I am done, I just switch the MBP off and off the power switch. Then when I want to use it again, I will switch the power switch back on. smile.gif

@izact Yea no worries, I face the same situation as you where i retyped my CC number... In the mean time like what mememe12 said.. Go shop for accesorries =D Its costly but I guess an expesnive gadget should go with nice accessories right? I already ordered my backpack, casing (speck see thru) and also moshi palmguard oh not forgetting 1TB MyBook Essential which I need to reformat for my Mac to use =(..

@harmeet15 wow is that an issue?... I guess Ill get to try it tonight.. Will let you know my result later =D

So in simple terms. I should charge to 100% or 90+% then use it without the charger till the battery drops low and recharge it again. I must not plug the charger 24/7 when I am using it as it will slowly reduce battery life. And every month I should let my mac battery drop dead and do a full recharge after that? smile.gif

Its call calibration for the once a month thing where you totally use your mac till it autosleep and charge to full power again.. If im not mistaken try read more on the link posted by wiraone.. Very useful info there..

As the link that wiraone post, apple came out with a new technology for the current refreshed MBP line and it is still possible to plug it in 24/7.. Read up more cause I dont have time to really read in detail.. At work =(

I have already read. I will do that monthly thing. Actually it will happen almost every week as I will start bringing my mac to work tongue.gif
Normally I will charge 6 hours or less and I will remove the plug, play a little bit like 20% battery drop and plug in again. That is fine right laugh.gif
