MBP 13''Core 2 2.4ghz  and MBP 15'' i5 2.4ghz processors , what is the different oo? both also 2.4ghz
*
Core 2 Duo 2.4 Ghz... vs i5 2.4 Ghz..

can say like comparing 1.8L proton engine vs 1.8L turbocharged honda vtec engine. both also 1.8L, but one is much better

also, the i5 2.4Ghz can actually go up to 2.93 Ghz biggrin.gif

another difference between the size is the graphics processors. the 13" got 320M which is not that fast but pretty decent. the 15" has intel HD, which is very slow compared to the 320M...but the 15" got another GPU, the 330M, which is around double the speed of the 320M

if you're comparing between those two models, maybe u can share with us what are you going to do with ur notebook. that way we can give u a better recommendation smile.gif

Hey Thankz for the awesome comparison. Now i understand completely.

I'm planning to use it for some movies , music and also some games( COD , modern warfare 2 , star crafts , assassins creed 2 , splinter cells etc etc.) I'm not sure what is the graphics consumptions of those games.

seems like you game a lot. i think it's better for u to go for the 15" so u can have the 330M. im guessing the 320M can run those games but u'll likely need to settle for low graphic settings. not fun la like that ;p

get the MBP 15", n buy a good mouse if u havent got one smile.gif

I played MW2 and splinter cell using boot camp on 13" 2.4 gHz. graphics best at mid range to avoid lag. but its really not bad at all.

2 months and you have used up 27 cycles? did you keep on charging it when you are at 80%,70%,60%,50%,40%,30%,20%? it should be 20% and below then only charge, plus have you calibrated at least once a month?

still downloading, hopefully it fixes my issues with some CS3 apps, and also improve the GC drivers for steam.

does the percentage keep on decreasing for every successive charge cycle...?

mine's fluctuating... got my MBP for only 2 weeks, only 8 charge cycles, and I've seen it fluctuates between 96% and 100%... Now at 96%... I haven't had the time to discharge it yet for these few days, have been plugged for over 2 days straight doing data recovery on somebody else's HDD... now I miss my Mac Pro... doh.gif

hm i just want some clarification here...

this calibration thing only makes the 'battery info detector' (or whatever it's called haha) show u more accurate info about the battery right?

does it actually improve the battery lifetime?

nope it doenst improve the lifetime the only way to do that is to take care of it nicely, no other means.

I just ordered my 13" MBP, yay! Expected to ship next week. smile.gif

One Q on batteries since we're on it now. I usually use my laptop at home on my workstation so it's plugged in to AC power all the time. And I definitely would wanna extend my battery life as long as I can so...

1. Do I take out my battery as long as I'm plugged in?
2. If so, how many % should I leave it at when I take it out.. 100% or 50% or less?
