15" i7
8GB ram
500gb 7200rpm

should be enough for you.
oh yea, if you have extra money, you should throw em' for an external hdd for backup use.

I'm not rich... I bought mine with my hard-earned money working my ass off... tongue.gif

I can't even afford a computer during my SPM years...

You can buy after SPM, by that time there should be a MBP refresh in Dec '10 or Jan '11.... As for the time taken to familiarise OS X... It shouldn't be difficult...

QUOTE(PeeEl @ Jun 13 2010, 01:29 AM)
I normally won't debate on an issue when it is so logically clear which is correct but in this case, mine dropped to 92% after only 13 charge cycles and having it for 6 months; and I was given a new battery after claiming for it. If it is normal would Apple allow the replacement?

Further, in earlier posts, one forummer posted a screenshot showing his 18 months MBP with quite a number of charge cycles but the battery health is 96%. Afore-stated numbers are as per what I remember, give or take. Lastly a friend when he sold off his MBP after almost a year of usage and he is quite a heavy user, it was 96%.

So, how can a 2 month unit with a low charge cycle be normal with a 93% health rating? Are you saying that the battery giving way after slightly over 2 years of usage, arithmetically, if the trend persists, is normal???

What I am expounding is I comment with facts in hand, not just in passing.

Whenever I use my MBP putting on my lap(after all it's a laptop), I can feel the heat oozing from the bottom at the back. So, this is something you should note. Anyway, it's always a good idea to read up more before making any decisive move.
*
the problem is held between how the user take care of it
i got my one 94%, but apple uk disagree to provide me a replacement
to be honest, my cycle is quite low either

and it can goes up and down from time to time

At this point I'm suspecting a malformed pdf that tried to mess with a Windows system. Why not use Preview to read the PDF, out of curiosity?

the core i-sereis has Turbo Boost and also is best for multi threaded apps like FCP for example, and best partis the dedicated GC for the 15inch, look up at apple.com and compare

this is last time education price
user posted image

i not sure about current one
http://store.apple.com/uk-edu/browse/home/...?mco=OTY2ODExMA
the price is different (but i din select Education store for uni student, might be different)

normal apple store
http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop...?mco=OTY2ODExMA

Says i take first spec of macbook pro
£938.83 as the link hereApple Edu Store
plus £152 for ipod touch 8GB, then rebate £130 (at Max)
you gonna pay £960.83, which is Rm4616

based on here, first spec of macbook pro is just RM3599
http://store.apple.com/my-k12/browse/home/...mco=MTAyNTQzMzk
plus ipod touch 8GB, RM779
Total = RM4378
