@theglove20 What I did was when i got my macbook i charge till its 100% and leave it for 2 hours fully charge. then I use till it sleep by itself and leave it for 5 hours uncharge, after that charge it back up till full. Thats what I did for my calibration.

@keepme88 Gratz.. Welcome to da club!

If Im not mistaken those without any customization will be send from Singapore but those customised unit will be coming from China unless maybe Singapore doesnt have stock for the basic configurations then they will send it from China.

Normally the dates given by apple will be the day you will get yours. Between that time period given.

@realpesky They will definitely call you before they deliver the product to you.

@keepme88 When I recieved my Macbook, I did also see its already 3 weeks old when I use coconut battery to check. I think it shouldnt be a big problem as manufcaturers does install and test it out first before shipping out for customers. So a few weeks should be ok.

@impendance Wah so fussy until that small of a defect want to claim warranty? haha jkjk.. Different ppl different preference. You could try to call up the apple care and to see if they will replace for you. But wouldnt it be too much of a hassle to send it back and waiting for days or weeks maybe to get it back because of a small dot?

@Gilthoniel Congratz =) Not everyones mac has problems. Mine came in good condition too.... haha

@Qubezo No rubber but there should be a some sort like a rubber stud 4 pieces at each corner of my MBP. Just let it down gently and definitely there will be no sound. Anything if you let it down gently no problem dude.

So far I never see anyone having problems with windows 7... Maybe you could try to reinstall again? Shouldnt be a problem as other forumers did install windows 7 via bootcamp.

Im not sure which is the best version but I would definitely choose windows 7 64-bit as Im using it on my desktop. But I doubt the 32 bit is causing the issues. Or is there any corrupted register files for your games or your OS? Im not so sure..

But good to hear that you will get an exchange =)... Just have to wait for another round

Hmm.. It depends which day that you other and stock availability. If you didnt customize your MB then it will arrive faster. For my case I ordered on a Saturday morning and arrived on Wednesday morning. So total 4 days (3 working days). Mostly when you purchase the macbook they will give you an estimated date of arrival. The date should be quite accurate as mine arrive on the specific date given.

@realpesky Im not sure about time machine but Im sticking to normal WD external HDD for my backup.. Will partition into two partition where 1 will be backup and the other for storage...

@david3850 Mac OS doesnt support flash so I guess thats the reason why you couldnt watch most of the youtube videos... I can see most of the videos after downloading a flash player plugin.. you could try that adobe flash for mac..

Added on May 14, 2010, 8:36 amYea and firefox seems to work... not sure why

Added on May 14, 2010, 8:37 amIm using safari btw... But i did install the adobe flash for mac..and i can watch youtube =)

Did you uninstall your previous account correctly? Normally it cant connect maybe due to some network problem. Maybe you could try to re-create again later or connect to it later... I have had an experience where I tried the first time couldnt work but after trying again it works..

Added on May 14, 2010, 9:40 amAnd try double checking all your username/password etc...

Oh haha yeap sometimes connection does give us problems... Oh the software updater does give me problems last time when I want to update my rosetta... But the next day I tried again and it work perfectly fast... So it still depends on your connection..

Added on May 14, 2010, 10:01 amOh I meant the software updater connection... I think they will find the link to download those updates and some links/mirrors might be slow at certain time.. So I think thats the reason behind that..

Oh haha... No need to worry about the numbers.. the other day I did a software update it took me less than 15 minutes to get all done after unboxing my macbook... Maybe you could try aborting it and try again later... Of course dont turn on or download other stuff while you are updating to not hog up your bandwidth... The best thing is to try again later or better do it during midnight =)

Local suppliers? You mean apple resellers like machines/switch/epicentre? All apple price on the apple online store are the same as Apple resellers price... Apple products are price controlled by Apple US so not much difference that includes worldwide..

@realpesky & shanecross Hmmm couldnt be 101 months old.. I think its because of the coconut battery application thats causing this.. Maybe bug or something... I use to see my Current Battery Capacity at 98% eventhough its new but after charging and calibration it went back to 100%... So there are something buggy about the software..

Its just advisable to do battery calibration after unboxing but of course its not compulsory. Yea normally people is advise to perform periodically calibration like once a month or once in 2 months like what goliath said...

Did you post that in every thread? I remember reading it twice and this is the third time here....

Furthermore its out of stock so woudlnt that means we cant get it unless they restock.. But im guessing they are clearing stock right? And definitely LKW we couldnt get it from there as we are not students there...

Like I said its not a must or compulsory... its up to the user... I did mine was to double calibrate it since Ive downloaded coconut battery and my capacity was at 99%. Was weird so decided to calibrate it... Im not sure about apple but other computers they do instruct ppl do calibrate their batteries like charging for certain amount of hours before using etc...

Hi,

Just wanna ask, izzit normal for a mac book pro use for a mth with battery capacity 96%? Before i decide to calibrate my battery yesterday, the coconut battery showing 98%... blush.gif

Hope some one can gif me advice... hmm.gif

thanks
*
I think sometimes the coconut battery is not really that accurate determine your battery capacity... Mine was 99% when I first unbox it and after calibrating it, it went to 100%... Im not sure whether how accurate is it but it shouldnt be a problem... Maybe you could try other software.. Just search it out in google... There are quite a number to name a few iBatt, X-Charge etc...
